Well someone better start a thread so the bitch slap talking can commence.

um, I'm going to, er, slap your bitch:spanking: I think. Am I doing this right? sorry it's been a while.:blank:

Well I pulled the dear old fiddy out of it's hibernation to check it over for sunday only to find some damage that I hadn't noticed from my Feb spill. The rear reservoir had been given a bit of a tug & there was some fluid loss but it seemed an easy fix & will just need a re-bleed. Wonder how that 8 month old petrol will be? Best clean out the carb too.

The only question is whether I can ride it. I've been ok on the odd foray on the 750, but the 50 is somewhat more cramped & I'm not sure if I can cope with hanging off. I don't have much strength in certain positions & falling off would be ill advised. In fact the physio was certainly not for it when I mentioned the idea. Maybe I need a hired gun to ride it, just to see it goes. . . . Hmm I have an idea.

Not sure I could cope with a whole day racing, but I would like to just get out there & circulate.

What direction this time? Start time prolly 8-9am?

Skunk
14th September 2009, 16:59
Reverse direction I believe. 8am at the latest or you may not get registered in time...

Trudes
14th September 2009, 17:26
Yeah be there or be square!!
Be good to see you on the track again Dave! You could always come out in B grade and "circulate" and seeing as you probably don't have any points yet this season you could pick up some B grade points! *cough burglar cough*

F5 Dave
14th September 2009, 17:43
Actually that was entirely the plan to run off the back of the B grade, at least at the start. It's taken a long time to get to this stage so I really don't want to go backward by stacking it.

Kendog
14th September 2009, 20:06
Anti clockwise this time.

Plenty of room in B grade, we are all nice courteous riders :msn-wink:

15th September 2009, 08:05
Are you planning on watching your bike go around at some stage Dave?

F5 Dave
15th September 2009, 10:18
Well I re-bled the rear brake & cleaned out the carb which was somewhat gooey & pilot jet was blocked so I'm glad I did.

You'll be with me and Nick/Dwayne aka Team Crash Lots so stacking it is always an option

Don't worry we can give advice on how best to barrel roll or failing that keep you company in the gravel pit

Awesome! Long range weather forecast is predicting a dry track. I will definitely be there all ready to race. Hopefully my knee isn't the size of a watermelon by then. Swelling or no swelling I am still going to race on it though, this round has been long awaited! Reverse track too. Keeeeen

Skunk
16th September 2009, 16:27
Reverse track - hate it...

F5 Dave
16th September 2009, 17:32
Yeah I'm not keen on reverse track as much as clockwise, but on the + side if I do fall off it is mostly left handers.

Well same site is now showing rain for sunday. Still time for forecast to change several times before then & still be different to upper-upper hutt micro-climate.

Trudes
16th September 2009, 18:37
I like the reverse track, lefty corners are fun bro!!

fi5hy
17th September 2009, 08:28

I have rebuilt the carb and done some more jetting and she is going better than ever. For the last 3 meetings I have spent more time pissing around with the carb than riding. Looking forward to less spanner time. I am a spaz on left handers so looking forward to rectifying that to.

She you all there.

I'll bring my jet drills for ya Rich...

Stop it. Anyway I ended up buying some of me own. It is now running a 400 main just under 2 mm. It makes power all the way to the limiter now.

No more spanner time. I know now I have said that I'll be up to my elbows in gas again.

Buckets out
de-icing the glass
bikes and gear all loaded
watching the sun rising over the ridge
with the bird chirping their morning greeting
forecasts for fine and fifteen
my nostrils ache
for that knowing smell of 2-strokes
and ears patiently wait
for the sound of spark meeting fuel
The coffee's are downed
kids are packed
off to Johns
then onto the track

what a nice way to start the day...

Trudes
20th September 2009, 18:36
Well what a beaut day for racing!! Hope everyone had fun in the sun, especially our out of town visitors and Kaitoke virgins :)

What an awesome day! Finally crashed [twice] which is good. I haven't crashed in a few months until today! Was awesome to see another good turn out and was lots of fun learning the track in the other direction. I have some footage from the last race of the day (where I crash right near the end - ON FILM) here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTjkTAn4R7g

I noticed there was a guy taking photos earlier on in the day, where abouts would we find those? I am assuming he is going to upload to the internet.

Anyway, congrats to everyone! It looked like everyone was having a blast, I sure as hell know I did! Now to wait for the next bucket meeting.... I friggin' hate waiting

Bloody great day of bucket racing. It was great to see the numbers have increased over the last year or so. All the races were fun to watch with some really good battles through-out the field. can't wait to get out there again myself.

Thanks for the video and comentry Tex. I was having a ball of a time. The traction was fantastic. I dont consider I was blocking Fishy. I was trying to ride as fast as I could to keep out of his way. I realy should have been consentrating on trying to take on Glen! If I had let Fishy past he would have left me behind but I'm still green at this ashfelt stuff. Look forward to next time and hopefully it will be dry again.

Yeah some more great footage from you! When will we see you on the track again though?

I couldn't believe how much grip there was either! I have never ridden so aggressive and I feel like I am improving heaps with every race meeting. I hope to eventually get closer and closer to the front of A. But for now the slow climb there is awesome! Also I enjoy and try to take on board all the advice I am getting from everyone, so cheers!

I should have put in a discaimer about the audio just in case I was slagging off anybody.. It's not really blocking it's a matter of placing your bike so your opposition can't make use of any extra speed they may make up in one area.
I usually just try to go as fast as I know how to but during a points race I'll use whatever helps without trying to be bloody minded. Especially when it's the Fishman.
