Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has had similar probs with front brake callipers flexing outwards when applied hard?

A guy I knew said he had that prob on some of his GSXR's that he raced, and it took them ages to work out why the lever didnt have decent feel to it and didnt stop as good as it should.
Ive now found I have the same thing. Has anyone found a way to brace them or something similar to stop this?

IS YOUR AXLE STRAIGHT? FIT DIAL GAUGE TO RIM AND FORKLEG, UNDO AXLE WITH BIKE ELEVATED AND CHECK RUNOUT.
I HAD UNTOLD BRAKE PROBS ON ZX9C1 CHANGED PADS AND MASTER CYLINDER ENDED UP BEING THE AXLE. IT MADE THE DISCS SIT CROOKED IN THE CALIPERS WHICH RESULTED IN EXCESS LEVER TRAVEL AND A SPONGY FEELING.

No I havent checked that, but you can actually physically see the 2 halves of the caliper pushing away from each other. (at the front of the callipers)

Check that the bolts are tight that hold them together . They should be Allenkey cap head bolts
