I'm sick of the wankfest of shite that on the pages of KiddieBiker at the moment - if KB was printed material, I'd be using it to wipe my ass.

So, trying to turn it around - what's the best fun you've had this winter (while we're waiting for the uphill slog to summer).

Mine's simple. Last weekend ZXRider and U1AGO and I spent an afternoon putting my track bike together. We all talked shit and ribbed each other about everything from our wives and girlfriends, our inability to do whatever task we were working on in a competent manner, and each others obviously stupid choice of bike (theirs, not mine of course).

It was fun, we got the bike pretty much completely built (aside from a couple of electrical gremlins, and a missing banjo); and this summer you'll be seeing a GSXR600 being ridden by a bunch of wobbling old fools around Hampton Downs.

Then there's been a bunch of rides with great people, none of whom crashed. Except that MsKaBC, but she's a menace to Scoot(ers).

So, can anyone help me find my misplaced banjo?

Nice post, madbikeboy! :niceone:

Most fun I've had this winter is getting my 6L, getting a bike and riding! :ride: Rain or shine, cold or not — the ride is where it's at.

MBB, KB is what you make of it. If you're boring, then KB will be boring. Clearly you're doing something wrong.

The SMC has had a brilliant winter with plenty of bikes, boobs and booze.

No complaints here. :headbang:

Calling it a crash makes it sound much more exciting and dignified than it actually was.

Most fun had this winter? Well that's a tough one, since life in general has just been so cool lately. Time spent with KB friends ranks right up there, as does getting a new bike. I think what I most enjoy is the peace, harmony, laughter, love, care, respect and acceptance afforded me by all my relationships.

yeah what happened to KB, seems like not as many laughs.

watching someone carefully put their empty beer can in a rubbish bin that was not there at cold kiwi was a good laugh.
also watching another KB member get so pissed that they could not stop themself from staggering backwards down a hill

saturday/sunday double coro loop with over night stay over on the coast would have to be the highlight of my winter. Lucked out with 2 spectacular days of clear blue skies.

low point would have to be missing the Queen's birthday long weekend ride to Turangi (too soft to be arsed dealing with the foul weather)

another notable mention - Opononi ride with the usual suspects.

As for me, I think the best word in all the world as a biker is ...

Riding.

Over the hills and far away
Twisting the wrist to come what may
Past the fields, by the main
Over the hills and far away! (mm Sharpe's tis a luvverly series)

And next to riding is ...

More riding!

I hope you're not counting me in that mix, I'm not sure why you won't leave me alone. Surely the restraining order should have worked?

Seriously, what makes life really fucking great is the wonderful people who are there when the going gets tough. Peace, harmony, laughter, love, care and respect are incredibly well deserved and hard won in your case. Life for you, my friend, is good.

Best fun I had in Winter was watching the mother-in-law go arse over tit on the ski fields in Whakapapa while trying to snowboard......exactly 10 minutes after telling me how bikers are a 'rowdy lot, and a bit dirty'

Best fucking fun I've had since she came out of the bogs in some poncy Viaduct resturant with the loo paper hanging out the back of her skirt....

Dear Mr Cohen,

I've been a particularly good boy this year, having not done anything illegal (sort of) and by being a good dad and also eating all my greens. I would really really REALLY like to get a ride on said 750cc BMX.

I know you get a thousand letters like this each month but I mean I'd REALLY like a go. Even clean Mrs Daves car for a month.

Thanks for your consideration.

It's like Winter, except it's sunny and nice. Oh, and the road has GRIP! There's little better than a nice ride between Movenpick's over summer. And the too hot leathers. And the smell of the tarmac on the racetrack.

Summer. Sigh.

On the sunday just gone my buddy Gooch and me knicked a discarded used knobbly from behind a bike shop, cut the side walls off, cut it to length and attached it to the back wheel of the shin wang chin ping brand 150cc scooter we have.

Took it off road, it was hilarious, needs the same treatment on the front and it will be a machine. For those of you that ask why ? It cost us nothing and neither of us have dirtbikes..

That's mighty kind of you sir. I have to say the broken collar bone hasn't kept me off the bike (I took ginny for a spin to Clevedon 3 weeks after my accident, but it took a while longer waiting for bandit to be fixed before I could ride her again).

I'm hoping that my xray tomorrow will show a mended bone (surely after 6 months it will have done something) I enjoy riding pillion too though!

what's the best fun you've had this winter

One fine Sunday did a day ride from Taranaki up to Waimauku (Nth of Auckland) via every possible back road I could find, visited with Big Dave's boss for a couple of hours and then turned around and did it all again on the way home. Great weather, no bugs, traffic cops or any other nasties, plenty of friendly bikers on the road, just an absolute cracker of a day.

So, can anyone help me find my misplaced banjo?

Well, the boys turned up on the weekend and basically ordered me into the garage (which was a pity as I had such a long list of shit to do on the never ending house rennovation saga...).

It's about 90% together, I just need to work out what's stopping the frigging thing from starting up the ECU and fuel pump... Tony at Haldanes has been ordering all the important little pieces that I've been missing... Bless his cotton socks.

Latin American chicks are just the best. And they're hot too. I could tell you about this one chick I knew, she was Argentinian and she could... Oh, sorry, wrong forum.
