As you may well know, Baby Nudie is only 4 months away from hatching...

So, as I was riding home a wee while ago I came up with a plan to design and make (from wood instead of my usual alloy and c/f) a rocking horsepower replica of my V11.
Now, as I wait patiently for the "Guzzi's rock side to side anyway" jokes, I thought Bubs would look cool on this.
I did a few CAD sketches to see what it looks like.
Just sketches, not really the completed design.

Look cool, or have I finally lost the plot??

Not at all. Your kid might not love it as much as you do but it'll still look cool.

You clever little sausage you!!!

Of course you have not lost the plot, you did that a wee while back, say about 5 months ago when you decided to have a baby  :bleh:

Those look awesome and I reckon you should do eeet!!!

AND I think you should get one of those toy noise thingies, you know the ones that when you tip they go moo (http://www.revilotoys.co.uk/acatalog/vilac-rosy-the-cow-noise-box-sml.jpg). I am sure you could get one that makes a car/bike noise and you could hide it in the bike somewhere, so when it rocks it makes the brrrrummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm brum noise! :D

+1, and do it now because you'll not have the time when wee Nudie arrives...

That looks great. How about a horn or something else that makes noise?

Yeah we've got one under the house for when E is big enough.

Until then I have to work out how to power it with some form of 2 stroke engine:niceone:

Hmm,...thanks for the input, peoples.

Thought about a V-twin type noise for a horn. I've heard something similar to that on a toy in a toyshop, so thinking thinking thinking........

Speaking from experience, I wouldn't put anything on that makes noises.
Noisy kids toys gets old real quick - unless you can turn em off. But sooner or later they figure
out how to switch it back on and where the batteries go - then where to find new batteries.

Looks like it will be a fun project though. Maybe design it in such a way that the bottom rockers come off cleanly, so you can
turn into a proper little push scooter for when he/she is a bit older.

Thanks for the advice, and yes I was planning on making it into a push scooter with detachable training wheels.
Might be more reliable than mine..........

You're a crack-up! but obviously have forgotten how motorcycles work... I've never heard of a horn operating the throttle...

Build a switch into the twist throttle on the handlebar and attach the v-twin rumbling to that! Add a resistor and increase volume depending on how hard it's twisted... :)

Only planning on making one for Bubs so it's special, but if I get an order for K6 750 one or a 1098 one or.......

No, just one for Bubs.
