I know, ok, I really understand that I can go on and on about this fantastic part of KB that is so sadly ignored. I honestly thought it was working well, when I got voted as Bliss Ninny yesterday. I was not the only one to sprot (a new KB word perhaps?) a trendy new avatar. My new avatar was pretty cool :yes:

How come it is gone today? Surely they last longer than 12 hours?

And lastly, why wont the rest of you lot get into them? They are the biggest hoot ever! Yes you can attempt to be mean and horrible by nominating someone, it wont work though I promise. For those that receive them, accept with grace, or attitude, what ever suits, but enjoy the fun they are.

maybe therein lies the problem, if it only lasts 12 hours, why bother nominating someone. Why not have it last until somebody else get voted it, or until you get voted something else, maybe an option to relinquish title after a month or something as well. Just had a look on there, there are a LOT of warriors! one for all occasions

The reason flame warrior sucks now is that KB no longer is a place for that sort of banter - ie. any good threads as such get moved to PD or deleted etc..

In a forum of just silly questions and boring stuff, whats the point in FW? If you nominate someone (unless they are old skoolers) they will most likely get uber offended and have a good cry about it, resulting in mods removing the nomination, and going back to boring as hell KB.

You may have noticed I am a bit of a fan of these things :innocent:

The question has been asked before and there have been some great ideas floated. You seem to have a few of your own :yes: The story is, make an avatar, and a bit of blurb and lets get them together and put it to the wearer of "crazy pants" and "co".

They are not adverse to adding a few, they just dont want to do the leg work. I am a dunce, total and complete one at that. I have no skill with pictures, I may be able to string some words....

As long as people play nicely with them, there is no problem. I am hoping now we have a few awards floating around, and a growing number of nominations that are accepted for the fun they are, some will get over the thinking they are mean and nasty. Hells teeth, I think the funniest thing is one of these, specially if it really suits the person, it is actually even funnier if it really does not suit them.

They dont hurt, and they should be seen as fun, heaven help us this place needs a bit of lightening up from time to time :D

There are a few dedicated sites that hold genuine flame competitions and even cash prizes. They aren't for the faint hearted... seen people (who think they are hard men) come apart at the seams over the interwobble at these sites... it can run over into real life. The butthurt have been known to travel to other countries in an attempt to extract revenge for being made fools of. It's actually pretty sad.

Most of what is posted ain't pretty, but by christ there is some real writing talent amongst some of the leading flamers. The imagination of some is astounding. However most of the original legends have given it away... it gets boring after a while. It all started back in the days of usenet at alt.flames

Thank you to all of you that are happily playing this silly game. As someone has already pointed out, the flame warrior awards on this site are tame by comparison to some.

It seems however that there is a reluctance to vote for some nominees. Perhaps they have a bit of a reputation for dishing out red rep (it wont kill you if they do, I promise) dont let that stop you. Get stuck in! Give it heaps! Here is your chance to really tell them how you feel :D

I also notice that some nominees are actually really, really shy, and can not bring themselves to make an acceptance speech. For heavens sake, dont be so pathetic, take a leaf out of Katmans book if you have nothing nice to say about being nominated :lol:

Come on guys, it is a silly flame nomination that means squat diddly! Consider it an honour that someone has noticed you.

Over all though, I am delighted to see so many playing the game in the spirit I intended. Who knows if it is shown that there is nothing abusive about receiving a nomination, we may find they are used instead of other less savoury ways.

If you feel someone is worthy of an award, nominate them and see if others agree. Bit of fun, and maybe a bit of non abusive critisism to boot!

Squids wear no protection, deeming themselves invincible, and boasting about this trait wherever possible. While easily identified on group rides due to the slow cornering speed with bursts of acceleration on the straights, the squid will often impersonate a Rossi (another warrior coming soon!) in posts. Posting habbits of this warrior include bragging excessively, lots of talk about stunting, and a disregard for safe riding practices.

What say you? should we add a bunch of riding ones to the mix?
