After having Cycle Treads service my ZZR250 in July I had to return to get the hand brake indicator switch replaced for a second time. This is not the first time I have had problems with them. Doe's anyone know the life expectance for these?

If you're talking about the brake light switch on the front lever, they're a cruddy little micro-switch that should last longer but can easily fail. Hardly Cycletreads fault I'd have thought.

From memory, the Suzuki item is fairly generic and about $30. They can be fitted to almost all japanese bikes.

Do you leave your bike parked outside?

I went through two in 3 months on my RG250 when I had no gargre and had to park it under a cover. It simply furred up inside to the point that there was nothing left to activate the switch.

Bitching about Cycletreads over a brake light switch is a little weeny bit small minded, don't you think? Have you asked them before you complained on Kiwi Bitcher? Did you even know it had stopped working?

agreed not something that should be leveled at cycletreads - nor any bike shop tbh.

I also think you can by them aftermarket from Atomic bike wreckers (just up the road from Cycle Treads)

they are most likely using a Chinese accessory item, i have a few of these fail quite quickly over the years, not really Cycletreads fault, a genuine one would last longer

Big ups to Cycle treads from me:2thumbsup
They had a tyre shipped and delivered in less than twenty hours from a ph call.
Can't comment on their w/shop, but the tyre guys are on the ball.;)

It's been a while since I have been on here and didn't see the replies to my so call bitch as some of you imbeciles called it.

So to clear things up.

I paid them to do a full service and they replaced the hand brake indicator switch. Two weeks later It failed. When I went back to get them to replace their faulty switch they accused me of changing the NEW switch over with a faulty one. So fuck them and anyone who thinks it's my fault!

WTF you went back to a thread from 4.5 years ago to set the record straight? You're a sad individual.

What is the point of asking a question and then pissing off for five years?

Lucky it wasn't your foot gear change switch that broke, they can be expensive.
