Assuming we are talking about your SV??.You would be reasonably safe at 400mls a lap at Manfeild

yeah, the SV it is. Thanks billy, just wanted a starting point really. 400mls sounds pretty reasonable to me.

Yup..., :doh:
We actually budget on 800 mls on the long track, and 500 on the short.....
Then through a bit more in to account for race stoppages...
The Team Air Force Racing ZXR400 uses quite a bit sitting in the pits at 3000 RPM....

Be carefull cutting it too fine! I heard a lot of stressed out people in the dummy grid wanting ti get more gas after a red flag was show in lap 2 of one of the 600ss races at R3 I think it was...they didn't let them get anymore either for sake of time btw.

if you made up a fuel tank dip-stick you can judge fuel consumption yourself

325ml per lap + alllow for 4 extra laps of consumption over & above the race length + keep one litre in the tank.

325ml per lap + alllow for 4 extra laps of consumption over & above the race length + keep one litre in the tank.
For my Pro-Twin Sv I have calculated that the fuel consumption averages out at around 9.5Km per litre (using BP 98). This works out to 105mls per km. So it's really easy to calculate per lap fuel requirements for each circuit by simply using track length in km * 105ml
Manfield normal = 3.03 * 105ml == 318ml per lap
long = 4.51 * 105ml == 473ml per lap
As Glen says, allow for warmup lap and lap at end of race and possible extra couple of laps for a restarted race - and definitely an extra litre so the tank does not get too low to avoid fuel starvation after hard braking.
The only track I allow a little extra is Pukekohe which has a lot of WFO throttle.

Any of you 150 riders that are trying to conserve weight by carring less fuel....beware.... if you run them to low they tend to get starvation on long corners(leant over) and thats when they go BANG as it leans them out. Also tends to do damage if it runs out on the straight.........as its not the running out its the lean period just prior that hurts them.:(

You measure it?About a half a tank does me a while.
