Dash condensation?

Whats the best way to get rid of condensation in the digital dash? Had a heater on it(don't have a Mrs or hair so no hair dryer!!) that helped a bit but can't get rid of it. I'm guessing it could turn ugly and expensive real fast if don't get rid of it. Bike is stored outdoors under bike cover which won't help.....Any suggestions? Cheers

You shouldn't be getting any condensation unless there is a leak.

I'd pull it apart on a warm dry day and let it all evaporate in the sun, then figure out how to reassemble it all-sealed-up-like.

If it's an Aprilia or Guzzi dashboard, don't pin your hopes on getting it fixed under warranty.

I managed to dismantle mine , then wiped the inside with "Prestone anti-fog" from the Redshed, then sealed the gasket with vaselene it's worked so far even worked at the monkey.
If you can get it apart try it.

Apparently it's normal for duc dash to fog up a bit. Mine too.

Moisture in the Speedo was a problem for a few years in the BMW K series. Factory solution was to drill a hole and put a GoreTex membrane over the hole. Lets moisture out and stops water getting in.

If its out of warranty and you know someone with a GoreTex jacket... get creative !

Yes I have the same problem. It disappears in summer but reappears in rain. I haven't had the courage to take it off the bike and am certainly interested in how you get on.

Out of interest how long have you had the problem too? If its not going to lead to the display going to pish then I may just live with it as seems might need to have a good idea of what you doing to take it off or dismantle. I have very little idea! Its no problem to read the display just was worried it would stuff it....cheers all

Everytime it's too cold, it'll start fogging up a bit.
When it's warmer the fog disappears.

I've had it for over a year now, and it did that from the beginning.
It's between the top plate and the inner plate, so nothing to worry about really. Just more of an annoyance, not a real problem.

+1 Yeah they do that with marine equipment too, only way to stop condensation building up is to either A: let it breathe with a gore tex patch or drain tube/hole or B: hermetically seal it and fill with nitrogen. If you try to seal it with air inside when the display warms the air expands and leaks out - when it cools the opposite happens and damp air gets drawn in.

Out of interest how long have you had the problem too?

About 18 months although I think it has got worse. Haven't ridden at all over the winter but took the bike out recently and couldn't read anything on the display.

I'll ask on DucatiMS.

Speedo on the T-Sport is a bit like that - rain makes it fog a bit, when the sun comes out clears.
