74 CB500
4-1 exhaust with larger headers
pod filters
Was running way lean so ive put in 110 mainjets, dropped the needle 1 clip. test rode a lot better. no its decided that it likes to kill sparkplugs. Drops cylinders at random, barely ever idles on 4. pull the plugs and check them, random ones will not spark when earthed. Fuel bowls also seem to over flow at random and not always the same ones.

Cleaned the plugs up and it now runs on 4 but only with the choke.

Can anyone help? I know jacksh1t about carbs. il pay to get this thing running sweet just not shop prices. i bought a house and im poor :(

Summer is comming and i just want to ride !!!!!!

My guess is that "leanness" was due to air getting in from other than through the filters. The age of that bike ... it happens if the inlet gasket is buggered/not seating correctly. New plugs and leads may indicate if a problem is there or not. Fuel float hights need to be checked. (Check they are not leaking/sticking too)

PM Bonez he tends too know everything about old honda's well he has enough to start a honda museumHey, I'm just a tinkerer and have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. Personnally I prefer the standard airbox setup. Much easier to live with on a daily basis imho.
The collective that is http://sohc4.net/ should have this wee issue sorted in no time. It's probably good to start with this thread-
