I've rebuilt the top end of my gsxr 250 rr and I'm having a bit of trouble with the cam timing. Visited a shop to find out where to position the cams at tdc and they looked it up in a (hand written) book. But I'm pretty sure that these settings were wrong - The pistons and valves don't interfere but the intake valve closes at the firing point which really doesn't seem right. I did get it started by runs very rough. Does anyone have directions for setting the cam timing on this engine. It is an '89 head on a '90 bottom end.
Cheers.

W/shop manual for GSX250F across, but pretty much identical motors.
Its under Engine re-assembly.
Good luck :)

I tried cam timing as in across manual. Got lots of back fires out the carby but not much go so I think that the intake is way to retarded can anyone confirm if across and gsxr 250 share cam positions. Otherwise I've got lots of fiddling to do.
Thanks,
Luke
