hey all
Just scored a job in a local motorbike store
Is too cool  What better, aye. One happy chickie gurl
I've been out of work since moving to the outer east hills (of Melbourne) 10mths & had a hard time this year with this & that, so this is awesomeness in 3D IMAX
I'm lucky to live in a bike area - start of the mountain range (twisties :ride:) with half a doz bike stores within walking distance. One of the bike stores was recently taken over & I've been checking it out everytime I pass.
So a couple weeks ago, the door was open, I wandered into the clearance store, exchanged one line quips with a dude behind the counter (he turned out to be management).
I half jokingly asked if there was any work available & he said "Yeah, Grand Opening is tomorrow & Sat, so start then".
"Awesome!"
Was funny, people I know kept coming in. Had a total blast
Got a call Sunday to see if I was available for another weeks work.
End of the first week they asked if I wanted a permament job......"Sure! OK!"
So just finished 2nd week of work :Punk:
There is a main bike/access/parts store & the clearance centre & workshop.
I'm working in the main store Accessories & surrounded by bikes - Duc. Plus Harley, Buell, Japanese.....
Always wanted to work in a bike related industry. As ya do...
Everyone has been so friendly, from the owner down to staff from other stores I've met.
So being around bikes for decades, guess something rubbed off
Plus having been a partner in a custom bike building business & a silver/goldsmithing business didn't hurt.
....So I can finally get broadband put on. lol
OK babbled enough. Still kinda excited :p

I stay away from the cultivation stage, preferring only to consult with my clients about the style and ferocity of the product.
Its a serious job selling merkins.

Lakeside was the place to go. I first went there when I was 16. Still remember the day wasn't long enough. Lots of action, for sure.

Sure as fuck didn't have a lot of grass left once Stefan had 'practiced' his trial show on it for a while. Had his man made trials demotrailer parked out the front...the one he used to take to shows with the ramps etc...the neighbours used to love it when he was out front practicing...a free show after all!
