We have all done it, gone to something that holds limited appeal to us, but our significant other wants to attend, its called lurve or something.
So, Speed Show...
Yeah, yeah a smaller version of BBT that we all have been to, over and over and then yawned in a big way was my feeling on it. I have seen some highlights and some frankly boring bits at BBT over the years and have not bothered to attend recently.
However, I am married to a lovely man that thought this years Speed Show was worth a visit, so we did
What a lovely day! Seriously, I am so pleased I took the time to go.
Girls, if you ever want to see some of the best examples of testosterone (among other things) on display you have to make a point of making next years show if they stage it.
Go on your bike ( I pillioned this year :weep:) park at the gate and dont pay
Wander in, pay admission and hand your gear to the information desk for safe keeping, what a great feeling to walk around with no helmets/jackets/tank bags to hold on to. Grin inwardly when your lovely man takes pics of vehicles and pretends not to notice those scantily dressed, friggen yummy young things, with legs and bellies and boobs to kill for.
Actually laugh out loud when some guys in a couple of V8 utes do a demonstation of rev limiter bouncing, full on tyre smoking drifting, creating so much smoke they cant see one another. Actually no, dont laugh at that, laugh at the blokes running to see what all the fuss is about :innocent:
Have a look at some truely lovely bikes, and take the time to talk to people. I got a couple of compliments about what I was wearing (a t-shirt with thermals under, and fluffy seamed, bike pants) from total strangers. I am picking the shirt was the key here
Met a few new people, and a few that I have not seen in far too long. Learned a few things too  Speed Show 09 gets my vote, lets hope there is another one next year :sunny:
