That price was from Road and Sport who have 'em in stock. Boyds quoted about the same but stock is unavailable just now.
Couple of online stores in OZ have good prices but no stock...

Cycletreads have a "Cellular Line" Interphone that seems to have identical specs to the Blueant...Their price is $340.

Same thing or different?

The reviews say they are exactly the same, and that the interphone from aus is discontinued...

Okay - I had the same debarcle trying to find these in NZ for less than $360.00.

Dick Smith - at one stage had them. None of the stores in Wellington Stock them. Three seperate sales people tried phoning Auckland to see if they could get one sent down. No one knew anything about them.

Blueant Australia, sell these sets. They have package deals available for two sets. But wait for it. WON't SELL AND SHIP TO NZ. They only sell spare parts for blue ant to NZ.

In the end I got hold of a trial set, and didn't like the results. (N.B Personal preferance)...So I went for a Starcom System. Little more $$ but well worth it...

Road and Track - Lower hutt stock the BlueAnt Interphones, and at a very reasonable price as well..

Read review linked in Sig, will give some details on both products

Road and Track have them in stock but at $390.00....so not for me.

Yep - I'll try to keep the middle finger under control...

Edit: Actually I might see if I can talk Road and Sport down to Cycletreads' price...

If anyone else wants one, the pair come for $600.00. I could buy the two and split the cost with whoever wants t'other one...
Any takers?

Hi,

I bought a pair for $500 (the guy did me a deal) from Adamson and Holland in Palmerston North (http://www.adhol.co.nz/). It might pay to confirm that they have them in stock, or are still able to get them as it took them about 3-4 weeks to get them to me. A pretty good deal nonetheless.

I've also seen them at Harvey Norman for about the $250 mark. Ish. About 5 months ago...

Thanks for the heads up Paul...stock seems to be hard to get at the moment - I don't think there are any in NZ just now - Boyds here cannot get them in due to no stock so I guess that goes for everyone else as well.

I'll check that website though...

This guy has a few of them for sale on Aussie EBay:

http://shop.ebay.com.au/happyhaydn/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=

As far as I can tell they have been discontinued as others have said. Don't know about the Interphone but I recently bought a few of the Blueant handsfree car kits and found them very easy to use and very happy with them overall.

:)

(Though they are badged BT Interphone, not sure if it's the same?)

Interesting to know that these are back in stock again. We tried to get a replacement one last year after we got back from the USA trip and Mrs H's one had gone whut. I thought that the Interphones were gone burgers and was saving my sheckels for a pair of these: http://www.cardowireless.com/Q2

I have been looking and looking for ages and finally decided to go for one of these. (http://www.dmme.com.au/Bluetooth.htm)

It is a stereo setup where the others I looked at were only mono. Priced well for what it is.

I was won over in the end by the wBW review (http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-intercoms/imc-camos-bts-300/) and the price for what it is and can do.

Ordered it on Saturday and I'm just waiting for delivery.

That looks like the go! With a set of those we can recycle our Uniden walkie talkies from our PHS crapola era. Nice.

I was won over by the versatility of it as well, I'm counting down the hours until mine arrives.

I got the BTS310 single unit coming to be able to connect to my phone (which is also a GPS and media player) and then if it all works well I'll get another for my partner so we can talk to each other.
I liked the way if I wanted to add a walkie talkie I could, plus a hole lot more using the different add on features. A claimed 500m line of site is brought back to 150 odd on the web Bike World review but still very good for a bluetooth device.

And it is stereo as well, my biggest problem with the blueant was it is monophone as with most at the lower price ranges.

How much did you end up paying? I feel like i've definitely got my moneys worth from my pair and it makes such a difference when you're riding with a mate who's got one.

:eek5: or was that for both?

That's a touch high.. still, if you can't get them from anywhere else I guess you don't have much of a choice.

I think you'll find them worth the investment though :2thumbsup

Sorry to hijack your post slofox,

Hahn,
The set arrived the other day and it is wicked, fitted real quick and easy to my helmet, paired to my phone easy as and sounds wicked, true stereo music playing from my phone into my head, the gps (from my phone) talks over the music and the phone can be set to auto answer, which mutes the music.
Now all this has only been tested while walking around around the house, bring on some fine weather for a proper test run.

Good to hear Starky.

I found the interphone needed adjusting once I tried it out on the highway - mainly repositioning the earphone/speaker closer to my ear'ole.

What sort is your GPS? Coz I'm looking to one of those now...ones I have checked out so far, that I can afford, will only pair with a phone - not a headset...

The GPS is built into my phone, it's a Nokia n96 and I'm using the mapping software that comes with it, it costs to buy the license for the navigation part of the GPS software so I'm going to be looking into the Garmin Mobile XT software soon.

When I was going to buy a GPS (before i got the phone) I was looking into the Garmin Zumo 550 (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=414#zumo) which is made by motorcyclists for motorcyclists, or so it says on the web site.

I hope this helps.

Then save some more money and then buy it, or tick it up as most of the gen Y people do these days, haha.

Like i said at the beginning of this so called recession, I'm going to spend my way through it and see what happens.

My motto is to get the best you can afford so you won't regret it later.

Two things...

2. I'm all ticked out anyway...:o
