the latest performance bikes has a comparison/test on the RG500 in this livery, and the 1986 or so GSXR750 in the same livery. The GSXR is the better bike, but they all want the RG....

Used to own one in 1991 and got 268 clicks in flying quarter miles in Oamaru drag races back then. They go very well.Love to race one in post classic.

Road rash - no thanks!

The guy should have tidied it up before trying to sell it for that kind of cash.

I think he may be a little unrealistic on the price.

I saw one in similar condition in Italy last week and the asking price was €3,500 which seems to be what they go for in central Europe.

It would be interesting to see if there was a Kiwi punter who was willing to pony up that sort of dough.....10K will get you quite a bit!

Top dollar for something that needs $1k of paint, another $1k of handlebars and other bits + rego and wof
Wonder if the gearbox has been done? the are a maintenance part for them - about $650 for 2nd and 6th gears.
Prices have been going up a lot and they aren't common - and this one does have some good spares and a bellypan (most are missing this bit). I would have said around 2k overpriced, depending on what work has been done in the past. You really, really don't want a mechanically poor one - trust me on this :angry2:

Well, ad withdrawn, so I assume the owner sold it.
