I have the Triumph 'Off-Road' silencers, the shop thought they had put them on, but it turns out they didn't, so they said they'd swap them over when ever I bring my bike in next.

Nice bike & I want one in my garage. But why have they put a black motor in the Scrambler? Looks great while it's clean I suppose.

They did it 07 onwards I think, which is kind of sad as the polished motor looks nice!

Well that seat wasn't so bad in the 1970s (maybe that's why they haven't changed it).

And I suspect that it wont get sat on too much. The pegs may take some wear though!

I would hate to make that beautiful paintwork dirty.

What an evil, snarling, snorting (farting, coughing) machine that is!
You probably didn't notice over all the noise, but I followed you most of the length of Onewa Road this morning (not too close - had to preserve my hearing).
IS it tuned for the "off-road" zorsts? Didn't sound like it...

lol Evil?

well I doubt it's been tuned or rejetted, it's bit of a topic going by some of the fourms on the net.

Some say you should, some say don't need to etc.

Some people get back firing even they they open up, I only get it when I roll off, plus it sounds awesome lol

lol Evil?
So.... you haven't traveled behind your bike then?

At one stage, I was almost sure you were looking for a car or bus (or pedestrian?) to jump - you were standing on the pegs, getting ready. I could see the Steve McQueenish thoughts dribbling out of your helmet, as you imagined the excited applause from the hapless people trapped in their cagemobiles, or waiting to be herded onto the omnibus...

But no.
Perhaps you were just stretching your legs because the seat was as bad as it looks?

29th September 2009, 15:45
The seats fine,
Endless fun = tors on a gravel road, spinning it up out of corners, it is bad for your health because you end up going way too fast.
Truth is we all want to be Steve McQueen for a day, unless you are too young to know who the hell he was.:2thumbsup

Yeh mines the last of the carby bonnevilles. The cr carbs run same milage as far as im aware although mine had just started to free up motorwise as I put them on.Noticeable performance increase with instant throttle responce.

New Bonneville in the US is a great place for bling bits. The carbs were 450USD from memory which I didnt think was to bad. They will also pretune them to the specs of mods that you have done.I removed the rt side airbox cover and there is a slide restrictor that can be pulled out that opens the carb intakes after filter but before inlet rubbers. This adds noticable power for free at the cost of some induction noise.I also added K&N and removed airbox intake rubber at same time. The carbs came set for those mods and race pipes and required no alterations to run well on 91 or 95 octaine but higher octaine doesnt work well at all.

Yeah they are generally a good bunch. There are monthly rides and 6 monthly rallies too.

You can join RAT (free) on the Triumph website, just have your bikes VIN number handy, and then the factory will send you nice glossy Triumph magazines etc
Note you have to update your membership each Dec or you dont get the mag.
