As the title suggests . . . I'm looking to replace the stock pipe on an '04 CR250 (but keep the stock muffler).

Worth noting that I've also got an '01 CR250 with a DEP on it that gives little down low, and then seems to skip mid range and launch into a top end that is more powerful than what the '04 can cough up with it's stock pipe. I'm kinda hoping that I can get that sort of top without loosing the midrange the the '04 currently has.

I like the idea of the FMF Gnarly's thicker gauge walls, but the Gnarly is aimed at low to mid range - I've got enough of that already, it's the top end that I'm wanting to boost. And I'd be stoked to get the DEP's level of top, but I don't want to do it at the expense of too much midrange.

So, what's the best pipe for reasonable mid with a good wallop of top? What is everyone running out there?

fatty is my favourite

on the 05-07's allthough slightly different, the fatty does HEAPS more than the pro circuit

cheese runs an 04 with a fatty

i agree, the fatty is the better of FMF for top end. i've tried both of them and the fatty is what i've stuck with.

i run a FMF fatty in combination with an FMF power core II muffler on my 2009 250SX. the standard power was too mellow and this has really done a good job on waking it up.

would definately suggest an FMF fatty for motocross use.

Thanks for the feedback, Fatty's seem to be the most popular in NZ. Found an interesting article on pipes:

Anyone heard of Doma exhausts? Looking around on the net, seems like they aren't sold anymore.

Cheese incidentally recommended the Gnarly, but to be honest it's more top end that I'm looking for rather than low range.
