BBQ and Catch Up

Sunday 8th November - 2:30pm onwards - My place

Hi guys, it has been 12 months since Grub's accident. I am scattering his ashes in a private ceremony on Sunday and would love it if you could come to my place afterwards for a bit of a gathering. It will be a chance to say hi to some people you may not have seen in a while, say good bye to the past year and to welcome in a new one!

So, BYO tipples, some meat for the BBQ and kick back for a relaxed afternoon. I will do salads, but if anyone knows how to make a mean potato salad I would love to hear from you

I have put this on the calendar, please register so I know how many to expect.

http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=2169&day=2009-11-8

I hope you can join us.

What an absolute stunning weekend, fanatsic feed at the Petone Club on Staurday night (the extra apple crumble was soooooooo unexpected  thank you sharry )
Sunday dawned a pearler and the top of the piecock hill was the best I have ever seen it, will, Im pretty sure it was the first time I have ever seen it.

The whole day was brilliant from start to finish, 4.30am wake up call to catch the plane out of town....sorry about the 'warm' air in the toilet this morning Tart but when ya gotta go, ya gotta go....:innocent:

Pic 1-2 self explanatory
Pic 3 Tart and MSTRS (very cool pic)
Pic 4 Bretts sister Lee arriving on the back of a Ducati (another very cool pic)

Hi Kari,

I'm sorry I missed the ride up the hill. I was riding the Takas totally unaware that this was happening. It looks like KB done Brett and yourself proud. And the weather certainly played it's part.

Well, I was very privileged to be down in Wellington with Kari this weekend to say a final good bye to Grubb. The weather was just fabulous, I got to hug a few of the BRU crew  I also got to hug many of the people I met last year, and I actually managed to get through one round of Mountains O Mourne too. The plan was for two, but I could not manage that it seemed.

Here are a few pics that I would like to share of the day.

Pic 1: Scone maker extrordinare - Nana mac, with Bretts sister Flea

Pic 2: Some nice sounds in the morning

Pic 3: Beware, this is what happens when someone is stupid enough to start a thread dissing the crew - We DO NOT smell like Poo! Ok Gubby wubby :D

Thanks for all coming around this weekend .. and for the positive thoughts and energies sent from those who could not make it .... It was fantastic to such an amazing group of people to come and share the final lap of Grubs journey with me ... and just a total blessing ....

Having finally completed the 1000 k cruise ... Grub is now back where he belongs ... as shown in Mahas pictures .. .there is no more a fitting place for my lover to be scattered ... ashes to ashes ...

Nice one Kari!

It was a fitting way to send off a biker and thanks for the opportunity to be there.

You impressed with your effort and determination to get Grub around a C1KC, I enjoyed the fang as I tried to keep up with Sparky & Sels and the Bar-b-que finished off a great weekend.

Kari, Brett surely would be proud of everything you have accomplished, over the last 12 mths, you have made sure Brett's death was not in vain and yesterday was a perfect fitting tribute to spread his ashes and a place we we can acknowledge him every time we pass either on the hill or on SH1.

It was great that on the 3rd attempt he got to complete the 1000k which was special as it was up to his lover to get him around the course .. I still remember you telling me how a yr ago he told ppl he would be ok as you were on your way .. so totally fitting that you helped him to complete this ride

thank you for allowing us to be a part of this day, it was really special on more than one level

RIP Brett, your never forgotten
