if you have a look in the general forum under legal side there is a fund for his legal defense, not many people making donation's tho for some reason,

I have not been charged or summoned.
I am a motorcycle journo, and thanks to the cops, at the moment, the most notorious!

Stunt rider charged over bridge trick
A stunt rider who rode a motorbike over the Fairfield Bridge arches in Hamilton has been charged with dangerous driving.

Mormon Few Stunt Crew rider Jonathon Bennett, 24, featured in a YouTube video as he rode a 250cc trial bike over the 70cm wide arches. The footage was withdrawn after interest from the Waikato Times.

Hamilton police Sergeant Phil Ruddell said it was clear reviewing the footage that "motor vehicles were driving across the bridge at the time the rider was on the arches and it clearly shows people walking underneath the arches on the footpath".

Mr Ruddell said a large part of stunt activity was the logistics and planning and mitigating the risks to members of the public.

"Clearly, this was not done," he said.

Mr Bennett disagreed he put lives in danger.

"Do I agree with the dangerous driving charge? No."

He said he would consider his options but wouldn't confirm if he would fight the charge.

"I probably think it's a bit overblown. I would say it's more of (police) making an example (of me) ... I'm not sure about fighting the charge but I will take things as they come."

He denied there were any pedestrians but admitted a few cars drove past but said his crew tried to secure the scene. He had one person below him the whole time to ensure there was nobody else beneath.

Meanwhile, Waikato Times editor Bryce Johns said Mr Bennett, who reviews motorbikes for the paper, would continue to write.

Mr Johns said he had spoken to motorbike dealers and while all concerned, including the paper, deplored dangerous acts, they felt Mr Bennett's reviewing was separate to his private actions on his own bikes.

Fight it carver! No one was hurt. And after seeing the video -dangerous is the last thing that came to my mind.
In fact I would say it was very cautious driving(riding). They're probably charging you cos you made a big arse of them mate. They're tarring you with the same brush as themselves. See attachment.Oops.

I think a Dangerous Driving charge is a fair deal, carver rode across the bridge without any regard for public safety, chances where reasonable that he could have fallen off and hurt or even killed someone, pedestrians according to the police where walking underneath, traffic was still using the bridge.
Admiration for rebels stops when someone gets hurt, luckily in this case no one did.
Also being dum enough to brag about it was essentially flying a red flag in front of the cops, who are charged with upholding the law............what exactly did you expect people ????

I like Carver so dont go getting anti, but I have a brain to and tend not to follow the general consensus cause its fashionable.

your right there Quasi, i bet there are more than a few cops that saw the youtube video that was plastered all over here, and having the police scanner dubbed over is waving a red rag at a bull, if you poke someone hard enough they always react, you have to put up with the consquences of your actions,

i respect the skill it took to do the stunt, but if you think you could ride put it yourself into a competition, public streets are not the place to prove yourself

Laughing at who though I wonder...

Carver only has himself to blame for making this public...otherwise everything would have been cushty...if you poke a low fire it generally fires up...

It was dangerous whatever way you look at it...cool maybe and very skillful..give him that but not in the brain department..

Be very careful to not fall into further charges such as willfully misleading police, and telling porky pies when asked about "other stunts".
Sure as shit they already have a full downloaded file on you dating back well before the bridge boogie.
Lie, and they will nail you to the bridge. MHO
