On the road between Te Awamutu and Cambridge this morning...pootling along, (always within the speed limit of course!) with a horse float being towed some distance in front of me. Sun is low and pretty well dead ahead so vision is not that great. There's a LH corner coming up - one I know and quite like...
Suddenly notice that the horse float seems to be looming rather more than it was before..."WTF?" I thinks...and notice that the float has stopped dead. In the middle of the lane. No brake lights. But a faint glow-worm of an indicator, almost totally obscured by mudflaps etc, showing intention to turn right, across the road. Just stopped dead. Car coming t'other way so can't go outside of him and besides he's gonna turn across, inne? No room to squeeze through left of him either - narrow road just there. Hafta stop I spose...errmmmm, now, lessee, I did a course once that covered this emergency braking stuff....
No real drama in the end. Them bikes stop quicker than you might think when they have to, despite a greasy road.
Bum sure went "TWOING!" though...
