You Lils decided to have a personal attack on a well respected member of our community without knowing yours facts. Hence you got a bad reaction...go figure!
the person you attacked is a great rider and a great KBer and I hope your silly comments will be taken in context as just that - silly crappy drivel! When we see you on a KB ride with a real bike then maybe just maybe we will take you seriously until then ....CYA

Just take it easy and try not to offend anyone, because the person you offend normally wont forget it, but in saying that we are all a friendly bunch - yet to find anyone thats not willing to lend a hand or share some advice.
So take your time, becareful what you say (we are all human and even the most friendly person can be turned sour when you hit their button!) and best of all, let the past die quietly.
Have fun!

"Silly Comments" ....well THAT is entirely Your opinion......I stand behind what I said! I know the FACTS!....I saw the facts!.......The fact is.......THIS CONVERSATION IS OVER!.....SORRRRRRRRRRY TO YOU ALLLLL!..........Once and FOR ALL!
So, what you're saying is: you have learned nothing, - and you don't want to, and you have no respect for the opinions of those here (who actually may know the people involved and the facts of the situation).
It's all very well apologising for venting on a subject you know nothing about and hurting people we all care about in the real world, but to continue to insist that you actually know better about 'what's been going on' is f***ing laughable. So, in case you still think this sh*t is acceptable, please stand corrected- it's not, and nor is your silly defiant attitude. Time to pull your head in.
Oh, and from your profile? It says something like 'law school' under occupation.
I hope to hell you have no plans to be a lawyer. The law tends to insist on these funny things you may not have heard about- things like 'evidence' and 'fairness' and 'consideration'. Go look them up if you don't know what they are.

Lilmsrocker apologised for saying a few things she shouldnt have on a topic that had nothing to do with her. After having it pointed out to her that it was not her place and proberbly slagging off some senior members is a bad thing she quite rightly apologised. Which I can accept.
No point in flogging a dead horse and telling her she is still wrong when she admitted she was and apologised. Let sleeping dogs lie and we shall see if she can clean up her act (Im sure she will) and then we can all be friends.
Now that im done with all the sensible talk.

She may have 'apologised', but is still saying that she 'stands behind what she said' and that she 'knows the FACTS'.
This is not the first time she's attacked someone on the board, or been remonstrated with, and then apologised (seemingly insincerely). So I have trouble believing that she is either sorry, or has thought about her actions at all.
Frankly, if she does have anything to do with a law school, my profound hope is that it's in the capacity of 'Bathroom Hygeinist'.

You're right, but I'm not like that. If I offended someone enough for them to bad rep me then I would atleast like to know who, and why so that if it is a justified offence I can appoligize. If they have taken offence to something that was meant as a piss take I would rationally explain that it was so and still appoligize. I may be a Texan but I am still rational (most of the time anyway:shifty: )If people don't leave thier name becouse they are affraid of newb vengence then that pretty much is cowardice. FFS, read this slower, I dont think you have the option of not leaving your name, the way the whole rep thing is setup, it doesnt show you the name, its not an option for the person who leaves the rep to remain anonymous, its just how the rep system is setup. Don't you understand this? The repper hasnt chosen to not show his identity, its just the way the rep system works. Once you become a senior member then you can see who reps you, the other thing is when juniors bad rep you, it has no impact because they are junior members. We've covered the whole "This is a bike site not a 'non-bike topics' site" debate before and the basic conclusion was that the Rave On section of the site is for non-bike related topics. Take for example the "Scottish Thread", it has gone on and on and on and on - it's totally unrelated to bikes but there are people who have strong views on the topic of religion and wanted to have their say again and again and again. It's exactly the same with topic of this thread - strong views that people felt needed to be expressed.
So really what it comes down to is: if you wanna read bike stuff, then read the bike threads but if you wanna read non-bike related stuff then read it.
If it doesn't interest you then...don't read it. Simple. :niceone:

I think it's only adult, if you're going to bed rep someone (which I don't), to PM them 1st and find out why they've posted something that offends you. It's not always possible I guess but I think it would save a lot of these angry threads and public arguments that are sometimes inappropriate.
My policy is not to take the bad rep, good rep thing too seriously. The only bad rep point I've ever had was given with no explantion. I can only assume it's b/c the giver and I have different views on a topic.

I think it's only adult, if you're going to bed rep someone (which I don't), to PM them 1st and find out why they've posted something that offends you.
My policy is not to take the bad rep, good rep thing too seriously. The only bad rep point I've ever had was given with no explantion. I can only assume it's b/c the giver and I have different views on a topic...
Quite. I believe we both got our sole bad rep from the same person; as you say, it's not a reason to fall to the ground and have a wee paddy (frankly, who gives a stuff) but when the person can't and won't defend the bad rep or debate the issue like an adult, it's a bit sad. I pm'd the person in question, but to date they've not responded - although they got it several days ago.
Perhaps they are not as righteous as they like to make out...?

Quite. I believe we both got our sole bad rep from the same person; as you say, it's not a reason to fall to the ground and have a wee paddy (frankly, who gives a stuff)Ok jazbug, it was your choice to bring this out publicly so here's what I have to say apparently in my defense?
Statement: I reserve the right to give out good or bad rep to whoever I want and for whatever reason I feel necessary. You have the same rights btw but if you choose not to use them then so be it, don't enforce your choices on me though!
I gave you your first bad rep for your post #19 of this thread because I disliked the tone of your *public* attack against Lilmsrocker. I think from memory I gave "go easy on the Noob" as a reason for the rep? In reply to this rep you sent me a rather lengthy PM (7 paragraphs) and more or less "fell to the ground and had a wee paddy" ending off with the words "Now lighten up yourself, for feck's sake..." Now jazbug, if you "don't give a stuff" about getting bad rep, like you say, then why did you deride me in a PM after you received one and then continue to say sarcastic comments about me like "Perhaps they are not as righteous as they like to make out" in public?
Seems you are taking it all a bit too seriously!
but when the person can't and won't defend the bad rep or debate the issue like an adult, it's a bit sad. I pm'd the person in question, but to date they've not responded - although they got it several days ago. O come on jazbug, your PM never warranted or requested a reply, you made your point. And as for having to defend or debate the bad rep I gave you, like I've already said you are taking it all too seriously. I have no desire to debate this with you or defend my reasoning for the rep.
Perhaps they are not as righteous as they like to make out...?That cheap shot is worthy of more bad rep!
All this because you got a little red dot with a comment "go easy on the Noob" next to it - sheeeesh! :pinch:
Ps. I have nothing more to say here on this subject.

F--k the Bad Rep If ya don't ride a Motorbike like it was built to do You should go home & play with your Barbie Dolls . :angry2:
SENSEI
Sensei, I think you might have misunderstood me- I'd never give out bad rep for tales of wheelying etc etc Bikers are supposed to sit around and tell tall tales of their exploits. I love sitting around and talking shit about bikes (all of it true of course.... unless the listener is a cop, then I was obviously exaggerating massively in an attempt to look like a hard core biker...)
I know this has been done to death elsewhere, but I can see that this is a community and therefore people will talk about non bike related stuff. Hell I've posted maybe half my posts in threads that have nothing to do with motorbikes. But there's a lot of it to wade through if you use the 'new posts' link. Maybe we need to have a way of searching for new posts and excluding the rave on section, so bike nerds like me can find the new bike stuff easily?
Does the rep thing do more harm than good? It makes one feel all warm and fuzzy when you get good rep, whereas bad rep winds some people up. From personal experience it seems if you post something funny, you'll get tons of good rep. I imagine this could become somewhat addictive ie: "wow, how much rep will I get if I post THIS...". I got probably half of my megre supply of rep from two posts, and it was tempting to find something even funnier..... Obviously, people give good rep cause they like the funny stuff, but maybe the rep feature is the reason there's so much...erm...non bike related stuff? And bad rep in some cases just seems to make enemies of people who have never met...

Whatever, Zed. It was hardly a paddy; it was an explanation of why I said what I did, and perfectly reasoned, I thought. I thought you might care to explain why you disagreed with me, because I was genuinely interested in your perspective, and would rather have discussed it than starting some silly slanging match- which you appear to specialise in, and (I think) most people I know would recognise that I do not.
The last 'lighten up' comment was meant in good humour- you have chosen to take it differently. Sorry about that. Now, if you are going to make this public, then do me a favour and don't turn it into a silly 'here am I, outing the baddie' thing, without accurately portraying the essence of what I said to you- which was perfectly balanced and in fact concurred that I probably should not have said part of what I said. In fact, I believe I have already apologised about that to the person in question, in a PM. If I was *really* going to throw a paddy, then I'd give you bad rep too, for this- but I'm not as sad as all that.
Ok: we can ignore each other from now on, if you prefer not to listen to people you happen not to agree with. I really am sorry that you misinterpreted my original PM- I didn't think it was that ambiguous. Let's get back to bikes, as several people have already said... over and out.
