not sure if theres a sticky out there for it on the site, but im sure i saw it somewhere anyway.
i would like to know the best way to get all the grese off my bike without have to use grese remover and a rag polishing it for 5 hours its packed up on my chain rear wheel and back end of the frame. if i sprayed it with grese remover and water blasted the bugger would that be ok. hmmm what to do?

An old paintbrush and Kerosene is the answer to your problems,cheap/simple and it works.Dont forget to lube chain afterwards.Edit, water blasting your bike isnt a good idea.

Turtlewax is good shit - unlike most products, it actually works. For the chain, use kerosene plus an old toothbrush.

Just use the patented "DMNTD" approach and trade in the bike whenever it gets too dirty!:first:

Ride it off the cliff and into the river...by the time the salvage crew dredges it out, some of the spooge might have washed off...with luck.

I waterblast it, but not near the bearings, then spray with liquid dynamo (or truck wash if the wife used all the dynamo) then have a coffee for 10 mins. Then waterblast down again. Towel off, run engine, WD40 the metals, lube the chain, silicon the plastics. Dirt bikes and road bike. If your bike has plastic fairings tho... dunno.

I use normal washing powder solution for the scudgy bits, persil or some such. A spoke brush ( wheel cleaning brush for alloys) gets into the nooks & crannies. Make sure you rinse properly, washing powder is strong enough too dis-colour cadmium plated nuts & bolts & leave a residue, makes your bike smell nice though. Solvol Autosol to polish the alloy & Mr Sheen for a quick clean & pamper of plastics & paint. Takes off tar spots too. I give my leccy bits a squirt of silicon now & again to repel moisture.
I clean the chain with Kerosene, a toothbrush & old rag. I use a good chain wax which I push into the links with a toothbrush & then wipe the chain with a plastic bag which takes off the excess & keeps my rims sparkly.

Is there any thing that you can spray over the newly polished brakes to keep them nice and gold coloured and prevent dust build up?

just go to the nearest mobil, when the dropkick behind the counter asks if you want a carwash as well, tell em sure but you can push it through;)

How did "all the grease" get onto your bike in the first place?
