I was fueling up at a BP station yesterday afternoon and parked up behind two Harely's (and no this aint a joke starting here) After paying for my fuel I get on my bike and the two Harely riders are doing the same.
I noticed on one Harely the ends of his exhaust pipes had some weird devices that look like the business end for a mini gun and as he moved the bike I noticed they moved on their own as if bolted on loosely or something.

Anone ever come across these before and what the frak do these things do? Are they some sort of baffle for Harely's?

I've heard em mentioned on here a couple of times before, try a search, that might turn something up... Don't think they're limited to harleys by any means...

Dunno that they "do" anything. They are called tailgunners.

They are replica minigun exhausts and the more the engine revs the more they rotate.....totally bad ass.....a few companies make them.

How........quaint.
Surely, if they rotate around it will make a "spokey-dokey" type sound?

It is well known that Harleys are, generally speaking, too light. There are many "accessories" or "shit" that Harley enthusiasts add to their bikes to increase the bikes performance and handling.
The devices you mentioned are also useful as masturbatory aids when the rider can press his penis against the spinning accessory

They have an internal fan like vane that the exhaust gasses cause to spin. The ones I saw running were very loud as the internals were empty! Visually quite ‘cool’.

Tailgunners.

I’m pretty sure there is a Honda set I can purchase as an accessory called the ‘rear-gunner’

There are more than a few bikes around that look like they could be transformers etc... Or fighter planes for that matter...

Phoenix Performance Mufflers in Christchurch were doing a model like this a while back. Probably contact Nathan via his Trade Me listings if necessary.

Not my taste, guess Harley owners would find them cool.

They are loud - you cannot hear it until the engine is shut off then they keep spinning for a bit and make a kind of rotating wirr.

Just like Arnies machine gun when it runs out of ammo ........
