thats what put us off doing them. its nearly 3 hours drive each way for 2 hours riding. as fun as racing is, id rather do a trail ride and ride all day for half the cost

I'm planning on entering for the first time. Does anyone know if the Rookie Ladies get an easier course? Just the mention of a 'mean' course in the rain is making me nervous.

Hi Ding,

Ladies and juniors courses are always easier and alot shorter(15min loops as opposed to 40min loops). You'll be Ok on the tractor.

Thanks for that - less frightened now. My beautiful tractor and I are now looking forward to some ploughing tomorrow.

wooohooo what a hoot!!! tracks were mint as, a couple of slippery parts but mostly fine, had a bin on the first lap and smashed the peak off my helmet, it was quite fast and open, but a bit short in my opinion, could have been 3 hours long. looking forward to the next one:headbang:

Well what a good day, just a shame that the Expert, Pro & Elite races started so late. They got under way just after 3pm. Just dragged the day out a little more, especially when I was riding on Sunday too. With three hours travelling each way it was going to be a long day, eventually got home at about 10.30pm. The morning after it was straight up to Fell's!

The track was really cut up for the afternoon race, got really bad through out the race as the ground was so soft. The previous racing had ripped up the track and created some seriously deep ruts and bogs and I found on the 1st lap, especially in the white clay sections. We had a 20km loop, taking about 30 minutes. Was fuelling the 250 SX up everylap as the 7 litre tank didn't cut it..

Was a tough day on the bike but man, it was worth it. The track was in good condition considering how much rain they had the previous night.

I finished up really well and missed doing a 5th lap by about 8 minutes. Don't know whether that's a good or bad thing.. haha.

16th outright, 9th expert overall & and 3rd in the expert under 21's class, pleasing results.

Bring on round two at Te Puke!
