Proposed options for regional forums

Ok I think I have a solution to the fiasco that has happened here. K/B has grown big. That’s a good thing.
So why don’t we make sub headings under Rides and events for each region. IE Hawkes Bay . Then put Subheadings in each region. Ie Rides and events, rant and rave etc.?
That would fix the problems we currently have and address the issue that people have with not being able to find the rides for their or others regions? Tony has made a great job of the Hawkes Bays new forum site.
That way every region can have stickys for organised regular rides and new entry’s for one off rides.
K/B could have an area for national rides. Ie the South Island ride and the K/B North Island ride.
So what do the Moderators think of this idea? It would be prudent to consider it and IMHO it would work very well. Appoint a moderator to each regional heading to work only in that thread.

What a brilliant idea big guy:yes: save a lot of shagging around looking for information regarding rides in your area.....particularly for those poor bastards on bloody dial up:crybaby:...... still, I suppose if everyone buggers off to the new clubrooms...... there wont be much point:bye:

Yep that’s true. I like the new club rooms and will try and have an input that will secure it as our main ride and meeting place. However a lot of people come and go and KB is a well known place for bikers and bike stuff. So if we can sort this mess out and have a more structured system it would be great. Spread the load the Mods have to do and let the site grow in an orderly way. All things need change and I think K/B is ready for a new filing system. I will still check K/B from time to time even if the new system is not implemented but as you say the new club rooms will be my home for rides with people that are signed up there. But we can not grow our HB group if people can’t find us. So we could use K/B as a recruiting office and then point them to Tony’s place? Or if this works just work back here........

You could always set up some Social Groups. They have calendars for events.

Regional sections under Rides and events is an excellent idea.

Being forced to join social groups isn't when you may just want to scan parts of the country to see what maybe happening,and you may want as many people as possible to see your planned event/ride/

Just an idea, Why not have a little box at the start of thread title with a colour for each region? Or maybe a number?

I know it may be hard to remember at first but when you hover your mouse over it it'll have that little box that has the image name or whatever, which can say 'Waikato' , 'Auckland' etc.
I'm talking about the box that says 'Headbagers avatar' on his avatar ^^, sorry I don't know the technical term.

This would be useful for threads such as road warnings etc, and maybe we could even 'sort' searches by colour?

Or......something simple as a map of NZ with the various regions marked out same as the Weather Forecasting uses. Simply click on your region and bingo ......... just a thought:scratch:

Heh, simple eh... now taking suggestions for a web developer with both the time and motivation to integrate such a thing into vBulletin... or will something like that magically build itself??

I understand that but are you being sarcastic? We are only looking at ways to improve K/B for our local groups. We can always use the Headers we have and that would not take too long for a mod to set-up. This is to achieve a positive for K/B. Some one had an idea and it is worth looking at. So be positive and comment on the idea and let us know if it will work in your opinion. Not the way we do it, but the idea of regional groups.
