Yep, im an idiot. Not sure where the hell my key is, but its definitely not where I thought it was! :shit:
Is there anyway a key can be made up, or do you replace the whole ignition? Is this a job you can DIY without specialised tools, or do I need to take it somewhere?

You can get a duplicate key by going to the bike dealership and with the key number fob from the bike.
It is usually a small metal plate and in with the handbook.
Even if you can't find the fob, the VIN No. should be enough to get them to locate the precise key for you.
To buy a new ignition will be really expensive.

What YellowDog said. I've been there with a cage. I didn't have the fob. Dealer looked the details up and used a handheld nibbler. Took about ten minutes. From memory it cost only a little more than getting a key cut.

It depends what bike it is, and what ignition it has...
Older bikes simply pull the barrel or visit your shop, Newish bikes, without a clever chip in the key same thing. Latest ECU, each key has to be programmed into the ECU.

Any good locksmith will make a key if you have the key number.
Get several made at the same time.
I have three.
I have left one with my parents, a spare one in my safe and one I use everyday.
I have the key number on me all the time so I can always get another cut if needed.
