Why do people insist on repeating what other's posted?

eg http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=33671
same joke 4 times on the first page,

and

http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=97971
same joke 3 times

any reason for this?

Yes some people have nothing better to do than troll the forum finding out how manytimes something has been posted before.

If a person starts a thread ... then another with the same thing .. they get merged .. hence one thread.

jokes..... are another story, pointless.
however.... don't flame the noobs when they are after some advice and can't find exactly what they are looking for with the search function. I myself have been guilty of re-posting a querry about something in the hope that some new light might be shed on a previously disussed topic. I don't see the harm in that.
try to remember that, just because a topic has been re-hashed a hundred times.... it might the the first time for someone else.
