Hi all,
I am just a fresh rider only got lisence a couple of months ago and have only been out a few times on the road bike.
I was wondering if anyone else out there is and would like to go for a ride sometime or even some more experianced people who dont mind a slowish ride.
Just keen to get out there abit more but dont like big ride groups right now.

Always willing to do the same, and don't mind a slow pace at all. Have myself a new rider as well, so used to some slow meandering rides.. nice to watch the scenery sometimes :) Same as Trudes, flick a pm or give me a txt/ring

Hit up one of the mentors. They would be good to ride with and you should learn a thing or 3.
Otherwise come to the track and we can throw you in the deep end!:shutup:
Summer is coming (so im told) so im sure you wont have any issues with finding people to ride with.
Happy riding

hi - for new women riders WIMA has both experienced riders and newbies, and will soon be starting up its Tuesday night rides as well as the year round Sunday ride (weather sometimes has an influence...). Email wellywima@gmail.com if you want to come along and see if it works for you. www.wima.org.nz has more info on the rally in November and other things coming up.

I know this is quite an old thread now, but thought I'd add on to it anyway...
I am also a female biker in the wellington region. Always keen to meet other gals and head out for a ride. Live in Upper Hutt, but work in Wellington. Have my restriced and ride my bike as often as possible.
It would be good to meet some of the local ladies who share this new passion of mine. Perhaps we should organise a womens group ride some time soon? Just a thought.

Shit - quick take it back! Haha my bad.
but you know what I mean. While I'm very used to being the only girl in a bunch of guys in different areas of my life (I work in a male only industry pretty much), I just think it would be refreshing to meet some gals too! Especially ones that ride bikes - I mean come on, it doesn't get much better than that.
I went on a ride the other night with a bunch of guys. Great guys. But as always, the only girl in sight. Surely there are bloody heaps of you in Wellington? :)

Absolutely!
You arrange it, and they will come. We have had a few Chicks rides over the years with good turn outs, good convasations and good coffee. Start a thread and organise it :)

Hi there
i am a new rider too
would be cool to meet another newbie
i am being adventurous and heading down to the early morning ride through mangaroa and then over to martinborough tomorrow
have spoken to a few people and aparantly in the larger rides they have a group of learners etc that they put a lead person and a tail end charlie on to keep us safe and let us go at our own pace
I rode in the bikoi and it was amazing, no pressure from anyone and they did this same thing
I am nervous but excited
come and join me
see the events for the times for meeting at mobil in silverstream
