Haven't tried the arrowmax before, but there are a few good uns out there for ya 2 fiddy, Pirelli sport demons are one. If you wanna go shit hot, Dunlop GPR70/80s. Depends on you really, if you're still new to riding you're probaly not going to be giving your current tyres a hard time, when experience and speed improves move up to sticker tyres and see what you think.

Keep it rubberside up mate :niceone:

dunno bout bruce but i like to keep it rubberside down......

the pirelli sports demons are great, im running a set on my ZZR250, in fact im about to go give them a thorough testing on the takas........

theres a fair few options for tyres, just make sure you get a reasonably high quality (dont sacrifice safety for saving a few dollars), I've been warned off IRC tyres by several members.

cycletreads (if you have one localish) is genrally the cheapest place to get rubber (especially pirelli), just make sure you ask around a little and dont pay the first number they quote you......

wot they said. Sports Demons seem to be shaping up as a control tire for KB 250's.

I had a set of GT501's before these. Don't recall ever losing the front, but the back seemed to let go quite abruptly.

I've had the front push on the sports demons, and the back will let go, but seems to do so more progressively. Though it's possible my riding style has changed since I got them.

Seen the way i ride, you understand. In the last six months i've spent more time off a bike than on it. Why, I dunno, still working on that one

But uh yeah for d2g11, rubberside down for now, but if you ever want any tips on bailing out at high or any speed get in touch with me or Mr two smoker. Theres an art to bailing and between the two of us we got it down to a fine art.

Why?Draco runs 'em on the nc29 (sp10's) and they're a great tyre, heaps of grip and wear real well, can't see why no-one likes 'em
But then, there's a few on here that like diabolicals :Pokey:

yeah I didn't notice any bad caracteristics on my RX01's, I think some users have had scary experiances on the BMX style super cheap IRC's.....

OOOOhhhh but i'm loving these pirelli's, went for a good ride yesterday, over the hill and around Wairarapa...... and they felt great, didn't put a foot wrong!! got nice and warm... showing the little slithers burning/peeling off..... stoked :niceone:

the sports demons I have ridden thru very wet (hail) to dry on my 250 and they were great. I would recommend them over the dunlop arrow max any day.... the tread patten on the arrow max's seems to be quite dated, and after seeing how they performed (not) for a friends CBR250R I would stay away from them if you are going to ride your CBR hard

It really depends on what you need your tyres to do. Based upon the assumption that it'll be general road riding - according to the an independant study, and based upon no personal experience whatsoever, the best suited to tyres for your bike are:

Dunlop - GT501, D103 or K82
Pirelli - City Demon, MT65, MT75
Avon - Road Rider, Rider HKM, Distanzia
Metzeler - ME77, ME22, ME11, Block C, Block K

Bridgestones apparently aren't recommended for any bikes of 250cc or below for some reason.

As clear as mud.....

Strange, the Bridgestone BT39's I have fitted to my FXR have outperformed my expectations, they stick like shit to a blanket :D

L'il Rat Bike has BT45s fore and aft. Seem pretty good, though I've not tested them in heavy wet yet, which is the real test of a tyre. Not super sport tyres but nor are most of those on that list.

Nathen If your going to be keeping up with me, throw some GPR70's on they have them to fit both front and back, although the GT501's arent to shabby best tire I have ever run on (woe is me ) Will be throwing some GPR70's on when I get the money.

KENDA!

Such cheap tyres.

My 140/70's rear tyre for my 250cc , cost under $100. Which is awesome.
Got 12,000 kms out of them, until they failed the next warrent with 0mm. I bitched but they still failed it.

My front bridgestone is almost double the cost of the kenda at the back. Back tyres are supposed to cost way more.

How good are they though? in terms of ridabilty and wet weather preformance, cant say I'd be keen to try them the way I ride

The dunlop 4wd tyres on my truck are bloody awesome. My bike has Bridgestone tyres and they are even better on my bike. However there are heaps of great tyres out there that will rpobably do just as good a job.

Everyone here seems to love the Sport Demons...except me. I found that they didn't hold heat too well on my CBR250. I also found the handling rubbish with them on, but it had an oversize (140) rear, so I can't really make any valid claims against them from that stand point.

I can vouch for Bridgeys though. When I changed to Bridgestone BT45s, the bike was transformed. Although they're not marketed as a pure sports tyre, they had decent enough grip to drag the pegs in a big way. I found the feel from the front improved HEAPS, too. Always knew exactly how much you had left...which is more important than outright grip to me.

The Bridgestones were way cheaper too :) :2thumbsup

Ridability is very good. I admit they are not as good as more expensive tyres in the rain.

A couple of times before, I have taken off at a give way in rain. While being slightly freaked out by the time taken for the back tyre to grip properly. Other than that I am happy. - That's why while I have my 250cc , I will continue to invest as little as I need to into it.
