$1,036.71NZD + shipping. Which is usually $70-100USD - shipping time is normally one week, but has been as little as 3 days in the past.

You may get hit with GST when it lands but it's still cheaper overall.

And before anyone comes in and plays the "You're going to get stung with GST if you import" card, I'd like to say that Ive bought thousands of dollars worth of goods from overseas - Hong Kong, USA, you name it, and never paid GST on anything. The GST thing is VERY hit and miss. Odds are you will not get pinged. Unless you are consistently bringing in stuff like this, then the chances go up obviously.

Anything recently? I think they've tightened the screws this year. I only get things in a few times a year and they recently demanded I register for an importers code. Is it GST you pay or Import Duty? I'm sure I've been stung every time this year

I just got stung last week on my fcrs.$250 gst content and I also had to prove purchace price and that they were not for resale. This applies to all items over a $1000 nz.If they think you are going to resell then vehicle parts add 18% plus gst 12.5%.
They have got strict.I have managed to get one through a month ago(wiseco kit )that they didnt catch but they also got me on cr carbs for my triumph.
The minute it goes insured mail they get them every time.
Dont go to broker to pay because they charge $80 and the paperwork isnt that hard to do yourself.
Proof of ID,scan your licence.
Proof of purchace including freight amounts. example paypal receipts printed out.
Description of intention of use and proof helps.
They also resurch the seller to see if they are a public supplier for the part and not a dealership supplier.

10 weeks ago i brought an exhaust in from the states. I had to apply for an importers license/code but this is free.

I paid
GST (on the item)
Entry fee
Disbursement fee
Administration fee
GST on all of the above
