If anyone out there is lost for any ideas for a ride, here's a ride myself and a few mates tried this weekend and had a ball. We rode through to an outfit called Coromoto motorcycle rentals, just outside Whitianga and hired out some of their bikes for the day. We had a couple of DR250's, a DR650 and a couple of XF650's and then set out on the metal roads upto Port Jackson and Fletchers Bay.

It sure is some spectacular scenery up there and it was a hell of alot more enjoyable on a bike designed for that sort of thing than your average road bike. It cost around $100 each but it was definatly a trip I'd recommend. Riding a road bike all the time you don't normally get to see country like that.

If anyone would like to look into it, I can't say enough about these folk at Coromoto. Check it out at  www.coromoto.co.nz (http://www.coromoto.co.nz):   :niceone:

Coromoto, eh? $20 says you're the owner.

Are you sure you want to lose money on that?

And then when things go wrong you can taste it (dirt/mud) or feel it (gravel, tarmac, grass, fence etc). :done:
