Well, today I took my first sunday arvo ride in a bloody long time:clap:....It was great to get out and hit the roads with just one thing on my mind, enjoying the afternoon...I headed up to the Huranui Tavern for a nice cold one...The roads were good, and the traffic was well behaved...I went up with my flatmate Rob (if ya were at the CHCH wed night ride last week ya mighta seen the strange dude with the Ducati Supersport)...He brought another mate along for the ride who was riding a GSX400. Got there and saw a few bikes go past...Think I saw FJ Rider and Kiwiphoenex go past...

Anyway, was a nice ride...although a bit too short....

If the weather was as nice down there as it was up here today, any ride is a great ride  Good on you!

Was a fantastic day, "still is"... going back out .. 120km for me the learner, and I love it... loads of bikes out... two great charity rides happening, and the "kids in cars" in Pukekohe... was great fun watching "erby" and some classic cars go around the track for a bit. Some nice drifting by the V8 Utes... gotta love the burn outs.

Yup. We did 300km Charity ride. A big loop through Island block road, and then back through Waingaro to Mercer. What a blast. I havn't had that much fun on a bike since the last time. And that was too long ago.:headbang:

Was definitely a beautiful afternoon, didn't do much more than cruise around in the city visiting friends and then going to a cafe for lunch but still had a better weekend than I have had in a long time. I definitely hope a decent number of us got to get out there and enjoy ourselves. Getting tied down on chores or other obligations would have been pretty irritating...

Air was cold enough still that you don't feel like you're roasting or sweating too much but the sun was hot enough that you couldn't feel too cold.

Perfect.

Ah so do you ride on the SATNR... or just weekend rides... yes thanks to Andrew I picked the YAMAHA... always been a Suzuki or duc fan.. and def a harley or triumph lover... but this wee thing suits me down to the ground as a learner, even tho I would love to give her a good blast, can't wait to reach 100 plus.. sigh.

I am not much of a social rider. This was the first group ride this summer/spring. Warming up to ride to Wanganui again at X-Mas this year. I havn't ridden that route before, man it was a blast, heaps of twisties and smooth flowing corners. Perfect SV country.

Yep, beaut day here in Chch. I wanted to try the Bandit out on some serious uphill twisties with Mrs Oakie on the back to prepare for a trip we're doing in a few weeks so we went thru the Lyttleton tunnel then out to Allendale (?) then turned and went over Dyers Pass. Told me all I needed to know ... the Bandit took it all in it's stride and felt rock solid ... not that I was going fast or anything. The worst part was going back down Dyers Pass and having to move over near the edge of the road to accommodate the cars that moved into my lane to pass the cyclists trundling uphill.
