my gear box on my K1 750 got f**ked and now am looking to change the motor.

i have been looking around, their hard to come by.

just need to know would a k4-5 750 motor (2004-05) fit on the kY-k3 (2000-2003) frame? i had a look at some pics and they look to be the same to me...

anyone know anything about that? thanks.

I would think so, the k1 lump is same from k1-k5.

with the k4-k5 motor you are going to need more than just motor, they went to 32bit ecu, different fuel injector units etc.

note looking at joshi japan site.

It would suprise me if a 600 gear box would work in the 750

http://yoshimura-shop.netmove.co.jp/ap/lscat?p=6/3/7&c=3&s=193/185/197&t=/c_gsxr1_e/c_gsxr1_e/c_gsxr2_e/c_gsxr3_e&l=en

i would suggust asking questions on gixxer.com would be better for that

i dont know of them, would they be able to help?

and for the ecu. would i be able to trade the one i have for the 32bit one? and same for injectors?

and am going from 750 to 750 so gearbox should work fine.

Well you would have to find someone to buy your ecu i would think.

And well i was saying you can find a damaged 600, and get the gearbox out of that and use that in your 750.

if you look at the yosh link above, it shows that the k1-k5 600 yoshi gears can be used with the k4-k5 750, it does not list yoshi gearbox for the k1-k3 750, but i would suggust that would work also.

But yes the motor will bolt up, i am lead to believe. since they are same motor, lump

il have a look but i know i can get the gears for about 700, but not sure if i wana use that motor again, ao am thinking it be best to change it. il get an 04-05 motor in then and hope for the best, just need to find a good deal now.. also look for ecu etc.

Then engines look the same but are slightly narrower than the 01 to 03 engines.

Think he actually lost 5 and 6th gear in the beginning then he took it to the shop to get it looked at...let say after he got the bike back the whole gearbox was totally screwed... 1 to 6 ...
