Thinking about getting one while I save some real cash for an 04/05 R1.
I'm looking at a ZX9R E - I have had an earlier model (b1) before but didn't keep it long before I had to get rid of it, so not long enough to form a decent opinion. Anyone got one, what are the like to live? Any known issues?

Just having a ponder on what to do. Maybe i'll go for it, or maybe wait till I can afford an R1??

I have a C1 and cant fault it.

I have got 136000 km on mine and i arent even nice to it.

Comfortable touring bike too.. Bundles oif power for the road.. Kinda got to ride the arse off it on the track to keep up with modern bikes but heaps of fun.

Go buy it. Massive improvements over the B models. Worlds apart as far as bikes go.

Good road bikes when they're set up right. Very quick, without that explosive bottom end rush of a 1000. I really enjoyed mine for the few months I had it.

From memory some early E1 models had a problem with frames cracking - E2's had no problems that I recall - check out the above forum for anything worth knowing about zx9's

Youd get that r1 quicker if you didnt blow cash on a bike to have inbetween. Be strong, stick it out. Get the bike you want, not a filler.

I had an E model & it was a great bike - an ideal fast tourer. The only complaint was throttle lag. Every time I got it tuned up it improved for a while but it always came back.

Had a B2 model, it's the one bike I regret selling. Heaps fast enough, and comfy enough to ride all day 2-up. I understand that the later models are even better. The B and C models look awesome IMHO, the later ones with the twin headlights don't do so much for me even though they are probably better bikes.

Mine never had that problem - dynoed at 139 rwhp - quite good for a 9R.

Actually a very under rated bike in this era of " if it's not a 1000 and it's over 6mths old it's no good"

I wouldn't mind another one.....
