I was wondering whether there were a wide range of different kind ofbikes available here in NZ, although, as it is in Europe, Japanese are largely widespread in Europe.
As some may know I am french (see my introduction in the new biker thread) and recently join Kiwi Biker.
Here in France there are mostly japanese bikes but also BMW for those who can afford them and Triumph as well. As for the italian ones they are not so well known as they have a special reputation : nice jewels to care great care of.
Harley...well Harley lot of fun, they are not really seen as real useful bikes.
I mean as most of bikers (well I mean true bikers) use their bikes on a day to day basis (except those who prerfer to wait for sunny days.....), Harley is not very well fit for urban use and for our small twist and turn roads.
We have fornuatly oother brands of bikes available like Jawa, MZ, Beta, Voxan (our proudness, all french made bikes), Royal Enfield...
What about in NZ?
Do you also "suffer" from the huge wawe of japanese and even asian bikes?
I read than Hyosung is quite spread here, in France they have a bad reputation as most of chinese or korean bikes.

We have most of the big brands and manufacturers here as well, the major Japaness and up and coming Koren brand Hyosung. Harley and triumph, Ducati, Cagiva, KTM, BMW areall here there are a few Chiness brands slowly making their way on to the market as well. (the bad reputation is mainly the chiness brand) Hyosung do have a few issues but is slowly and surely fixing and working through those issues and will become a major brand soon.

Well you know curse my bad english....:Playnice::Playnice:
i meant than than most in France do not take Harley quite seriously although we do (and I do) admire the sound of it and did go to the Free Wheels, the european Hells Harley (organized actually by the Hells Angels) gathering.
It was hold previously in the center of France but has been moved in the South of France.
So to say than Harley do not favour good reputation and we use to make a lot of fun at it and part time Harley bikers (those who only use their wery expensive Harley only once its shinny weather and only for a few hours).

Others real passionates are welcome of course.

Having ridden through France many times on a Harley and been to several Harley only bike rallies in France I have to wonder if this is a serious post or you are taking the pi$$

Look up on the HDC website and you will find a list of many HD clubs throughout europe, these guys know how to have serious fun without agro and have great rallies and parties

And here I was under the impression I using my Harley to get places AND having fun at the same time. Obviously I'm deluded and need to buy a Suzuki PML
