Woah! what's with the "Why buy when you can win....bid here" thingy that shows up the top of some of the forums now?
Did you set that there Spank or has some one infiltrated the hallowed pages with sneaky advertising stuff?
Btw, if it's paid advert space to help with the cost of running the web site then as you were.
(It just jumped out at me like those annoying "You are the 999,999 visitor - click here to win your prize" type of things.....)

Funny you should mention it, I was about to myself. Very irritating advertisement is my guess, pain in the arse flashing banner that hangs at the top of your screen too  Sign of the times I am betting. Nothing as bad as some sites you go to.

guys, google quero toolbar. it contains an adblocker for windows!! i got it when tardme introduced their flashing ads. works great! only thing is you have to put websites that you would like to allow flash animation, popups etc on a list. like, i have pop ups allowed on here for the pm's.

Shocking, I have most of the home page minimised and all signatures turned off because it all gets a bit too much (strobbing/moving shit everywhere)

It is visible, I'll give ya that, but is it moving and flashing too much to the point of a real distraction when trying to read the threads.
Cant we have it a constant color or something (assuming we need to have it), and not flashing so fast?
Anyone else feel the same way ?

Alternatively you need to pay Spankme more money to run the site or put up with the ads - this was discussed many moons ago.

2nd that.
if certian people dont want the adverts then the can throw a shit load of coin spankme's way to cover the site costs, other wise they'll just have to learn to live with it or bugga off. since the advertising started it hasnt got in the way of what i get out of kiwi biker so i havent got a problem with it, shit ive even clicked on a few of them

The complaining caused the advertiser to pull the ad......? Awesomely well done...

It probably wouldn't be quite as bad if the banner was for a forum sponsor that was a bike shop or gear seller etc. but obviously with the economy, now isn't the best time to set anything like that up.
I'm already pretty used to ignoring the green flashy thingy. How long has it been there?
