Transport Bike Dunedin to Auckland

I'm looking at buying a bike in Dunedin. Anyone able to transport it up the line? I have a sis in Christchurch you could drop it off to if you're not going the distance. Anything to make the cost cheaper.

Are you going to try the bike first? Probably cheapest to fly down and ride up.
