I was just to slay the dragon and save the princess when the mobile started ringing. There was not supposed to be any technical gizmos in the days of sword weilding heroes and damsells in distress!!. But as her green emerald eyes longingly looked at my fading image, I found myself in my bed while the sun was shining in through my window. Bummer! I am sure she would have smelled nice too...

It was my oldest son asking what I was up to and if I was keen on a short ride. He had work at 1pm but the weather was on our side and he felt in his bones that it was a day for riding.

"Yep" was my answer (as there was any other answers??). "Cool, see ya at BP in 15 min". So out of bed, get gear on and take off.

When I rolled out Shirley I realised that I had not done all the maintenance I had promised her. And she needed a wash. So we made a deal: She treat me nice today and when I am back home she gets the TLC she deserves.

Caught up with my boy at BP, we did some twisties, some straights and stopped at a cafe'. Had a nice talk about life. Rode back and waved him off.

I am now sitting on the back porch with my laptop having a nice long JD, Dry and ice for lunch while Shirley is patiently ticking away her heat.

Yep, life is good!

(This thread was started in response to all the misery, sadness and complaints there currently is on KB. To make all realise that if you take the good moments and compare them to the bad ones, the good ones will far outweigh the bad ones. It is just that we tend to take the good ones for granted and focus on all the shit.)

Did the same here, looked at the sky & thought yea why not, got the bike out & went for a quick but cool ride to Tairua & back, not far but a good ride anyway. an hour & a half on the bikes better than an hour & a half looking at it:clap:

My house up here in Greta Valley is on the market,
Time for me to find a new rental
Today I had some people came and looked at it,
He rides a trumpy, she a trike.
They really liked the place
They put in an offer and will probably get the place..
So instead of getting annoyed that I have to shift, I felt good that another pair or riders are going to get this great little house in the middle of some of the good riding roads here in the south.
To celebrate, I togged up and went for a ride, awsome,
no wind, warm sunshine, clean dry road, little traffic, a chance to see the wrong side of the legal limit.
So here I am between seasonal work, no money in my pocket, empty cuboards, having to find a new house to live in, enjoying the ability to get out on the road with the freedom of riding.
What a great day :2thumbsup

 Me next, I lock the doors in a while & the predicted meteorlogical misery has not turned up so off into the wild blue yonder. Just noticed my warrant runs out today so might as well make the most of it.
I hope you realise that "slaying the dragon" is a naughty euphemism bandied about by bandieing types who drink cocktails not beer or bourbon & for whom "a ride on the bike" apply's to a person.

Yep. This post is like life: You will find what you are looking for. If you are looking for happiness it is there. But if you are focusing on the negative it is there for you. Only you can decide what you want out of life (and this posting)
