Geemsee thanks for that. Lots of help.

I moved to Sydney from London this year. Im comming home (Auckland) by xmas and will be shipping my bike mid november once the rego has run out and i have cleaned it up. i just want to go over a couple of things to make sure i am not missing any thing.

I have a ZX9R b3. i brought it in march. it now has 27,000 on the clock.
I have painted it and put a few extra bits on it. do i need to put it back to std before i take it for its VIN. It has a coustom colour, undertray, hugger, clear taillight, LED flashers, Yoshi tri oval will it make it through vin or will i have to take the undertray off and find a std mud guard? and what are they like on braided lines?????

what are the charges. its not worth much here as it fell off the stand and smashed all the left hand side, its lost 2nd gear and it is about to run out of rego. so its only worth about 1500 AUD. but i can fix it my self once i get it back to my olds and my tools. i miss my shed and tools. I will need to produce a recept for valuation as i paid 6000 for it i dont really want to pay the whole wack for the gst as it is just not worth that any more. If i get a letter of valuation "made up" will that be enough.
I want to try and pack my tools, stands and leathers and lids in with the bike, will this be a issue. i would want them to check it at my olds house. will the extra stuff be a issue???
ummmmm any thing else i need to know?????

what am i likley to get charged, 12.5% for GST, im going to strip it and paint a few things, scrub and blast every thing till its near to death. so i am hoping to get through the maff check. what other fees am i likley to get?????

any other ideas will help lots.

looking forward to getting back to godzone

Check out this Wiki article on importing a user bike:

In your case, I don't think it will be worthwhile. Sell the bike and get a new one in NZ.
