To say "Howdy, John" to the Prime Minister.
And "Stop that cunt taxing us off the road, OK".
Reality, we probably won't see him, cos the DPS will smuggle him out the back way when they hear that a bunch of irate bikes are on their way.
But, that's all good, cos he's bound to ask why.
And yes, I Do know it'll probably be raining. Geez , what are y' bikers or sugar dollys.
See the calendar (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=2198&day=2009-10-18&).
EDIT. Time change from 3pm (when he leaves) to 9:30 (when he arrives).
But, SMC time being what it is, if you can't make 9:30 , go for 3pm. And of course there will be those who intend 9:30 but actually turn up at 3.

He's at <table class="form" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr class="row1"><td>Centra Airport Oaks</td> </tr> <tr class="row2"> <td>Address</td> <td> Cnr Ascot and Kirkbride Roads, Mangere
Auckland</td></tr></tbody></table>
So, airport really, which happens to be in Mangere.
Anyone know that site. I'm picking there'll be a back exit he'll take, not be driven out the main gates.
He leaves at 3pm, so assemble outside Uni at 2 ?

It's the National Party's northern division spring policy conference.
http://www.national.org.nz/Events/DisplayEvent.aspx?EventID=1554
National Party members only are invited, but there is nothing to stop us assembling on public property nearby, or even in the Airport Oaks car park (until we are requested to leave).

Of course if there are any KBers who are also members of the Northern division of the National Party, they should already have received their invitation. This sounds like an excellent opportunity to discuss National Party Policy regarding ACC levies on motorbikes, don't you think?

I'm assuming we try to mount the picket (it's not really a pciket, but I can't think of a better term) as he leaves. Dunno why, just generally you get noticed more as people leave. Going in he'll maybe be reading his speech notes or such like.
Which would mena being there at 3pm.
Only thing is I don't know if they tend to hang round for hours having drinkies and such afterward.

I think it would be better to be there as delegates arrive, and definitely as Mr Key arrives. After all, it is a policy meeting so we would like to get
a) noticed and
b) discussed in the conference
Ideally we would have some basic printed material laying out what we think National Party policy should be on this matter, or at least our major concerns.
Mst people who attend a policy conference are interested in solid, structured, reasoned arguments (that's why they spend their Sundays talking about policy) but this one is likely to attract a slightly wider audience with the Party Leader being the guest speaker.

Oh... there are now three threads about this event and I juat realised I have not posted in the one I thought I was posting in (darned multiple tabs!)
We should probably have all this discussion in the events area.

Uh , are we likely to be able to get close enough to hand out printed material? I can't see John telling the chauffeur to back up so he can pick up our leaflet. The last time I tried that I didn't get even within spitting distance before I was arrested.
If we can , I'm all for it, though i doubt we have time to run anything solid up.
Actually if we could even get a recognition of motorcycles as a policy matter, that would be pretty good. Even if they are initally opposed, in politics that's not as bad as being ignored.

No, we won't get close enough to Mr Key to hand out printed material, but a sympathetic party member may take our leaflets in (even if it's just to shut up our racket).
My printer doesn't work so I'm afraid I can't help running anything up. :(
You got arrested?! You're doing it all wrong! :oi-grr:
