I think most people want to by a used bike believing that granny has only ridden it to church on Sunday (did you know - 98% of all mx bikes on tardme have "only been trail ridden"?). Maybe it puts people off realizing that granny has in fact ridden through a shit load of mud and gravel with half the world strapped to the bikes arse?

I know how well you've looked after that bike and would buy it without hesitation - if I was in the market for a gaymobile

I'm tempted to change tactics with selling the DRZ. I might de-register it, and sell it as off road, but with a road kit. I've had a few enquiries, but no one's come for a look yet.

But seriously you guys do live a long way away from the big cities, which probably puts off anyone except the very serious prospective buyer. I've been thru the buying process recently & it involved travelling some k's.

You will get a lot more money parting out all the goodies and selling a std bike, a machine loaded with lollies in my experience gets sweet FA more if at all.

Better trade in prospects to being "unmodified", funny how it works backwards really.

Twice, and one of those times (the first time, oops) was by me at about 1km/h. The 2nd time was by Joe at about 10km/h in a muddy bog on our Central Plateau trip last month.

Would i replace the wee with a DR no way. Compliment yes. I have done a number of 1400k days on the wee and still able to walk. I doubt that would be the case with a more dirt orientated bike. There is a thread, by Iain, about selling his KTM990 for a lighter bike and many of his reasons are the same for me. Many of you guys talk about riding the fishers and the 42 traverse etc. Feel these would be far easier on a DR. sounds as though I am talking myself into it. :eek5:

The bike was running "sweet as a nut" when the bastards borrowed it, it was taken from the mechanics garage about 6 hrs after he'd finished it. Tom didn't even get to ride it after sinking almost all his coin into it,and some of mine, even got a new reg for it which didn't even get put on :mad:
