Just pay Stoner enough to keep him happy, if he stays they don't really need Rossi do they? Would Casey want to be #2 to Rossi? Or Rossi #2 to Stoner? Nah, not going to happen ..... is it?

In my opinion:

Italian bike manufacturer....... They would love to have an Italian riding their gear, especially if it was to be Rossi. They would flick Stoner to get him if they had needed to, I'd say.

They would probably benefit from Rossi's development skills aswell. He could perhaps develop it into something anyone could ride fast - rather that just a select few.

Didn't they have an Italian ex World Champion on board last year? How did that work out for them?

 Now thats funny, Rossi is spotted driving into the Ducati Factory for "secret" talks. How secret did they think that would be, Rossi, Occio and Jeremy Burgess driving in to the factory?
If you read Rossi's book and see the behind the scenes efforts to chewck out the Yamaha, I somehow think he would be a bit more discreet than this.
Anyway, he won't be on a Ducati for 2010, he's already signed for Yamaha for next year.

Rossi vehemently denied the rumour - said that it was bollocks, and even if he wanted to (which he doesn't), he has a contract with Yamaha for next season.

I think at this stage of his career it'd be foolish if Rossi to go to Ducati anyway, well if he wants to end his career in Moto GP on a high anyway...
