View Full Version : Vote of no confidence to ditch National

I think we are all angry at National... Here's a thought, isnt there some way we can have a vote of no confidence in National to get rid of them..
National are playing us for fools...
They told us to go get stuffed over the anti smaking laws..
They blatantly lied about the tax cuts..
Now they are shoving it up us big time with these massive rego hikes.
Why not show the bastards what we really think by trying to get rid fo the pricks altogether... At the very worst, it would show them just how angry we are...
Is there some way we can start a campaign to get rid of the John the back stabber Keys and National altogether?
I think Rodney Hide and Act would be a good replacement for the dick heads in power now..

It's a real shame that they don't teach people how NZ politics actually works in school.
The US has it right with their "Civics" subject.

I despair, I do. Did you vote in the last election? Did you have any idea what you were doing at the time?

Nats are making some unpopular choices alright. But that's what we elected them for - to get us through the hangover, after the orgy of the previous
red-green government.

Ya diddle! The ACC rego hikes were suggested by the ACC ... not the National government. The National government will merely approve them (or not).

Take your pick!
Red, Blue, Green, Black&white, yellow, red white&black (Maori), they are all "socialist parties" with a minute difference in flavour!
Vote any one of them in and the end result will be the just same!
Vote any combination of them in and the result will be the same!
Whatever you think you voted for the result will be a socialist government!
Only the names and the colours get changed to fool the stupid!
The outcome will be exactly the same, I have seen seventy years of it, no public beneficial change ever!

Just left of center
Yes that is true but some are better than others
Yes governments need a kick up the backside sometimes , look at Japan the longstanding party was in power for 55 years , just changed
ACC under labour wouldn't have taken the hit , fully funding my arse ( can be done over a longer period )
( why does it have to be fully funded unless we are trying to make the books look good , money in the bank always looks good to a foreign infester
I have always thought there are one or two people ( or group of investors or the IMF ) that influence NZ ,
parties such as National , bed fellows with the business round table will always agree with the monetarist policies of America ( large voting block of IMF )
Sorry but a lot of people said that National will push through their agenda when they get in
THIS is what they are doing ,,, THEY TOLD YOU THIS IN 2007
I wouldnt be surprided if the next budget is called the Mother of all budgets , and presented by a farmers wife
When people stop voting A or B and start voting for a lot of minor parties , then wild swings in policy may not be so common ( they still could but it would be difficult)
Mean while organise a protest and shout loud ,,,,BUT WITH ONE VOICE

I've been a National voter for many years but next time may well be a protest vote!

The funniest (or crying-ist) bit is that the think any other lot would be any different.
People need to stop thinking that politicians are here for the public good. They'd much rather the public just fuck off and leave them alone.

That is exactly right. Motorcyclists will doubtless feel aggrieved at the ACC hikes and I can in part relate to that but life doesnt begin and end with motorcycling. Looking at the big picture the National Government have a hell of a job on their hands and they are damned if they do and damned if they dont.
Its going to be an even worse mending job in the UK when David Camerons Conservative party annililates the Labour party in their forthcoming general election
Warts and all I like John Key, he is a refreshing change from that sour pseudo communist bitch we suffered for 9 long years. I sincerely hope that Ill be dead and gone before this country has to suffer another incompetent Labour led administration.

Politicians are all the same. Regardless of who's in power. When the reds put something up, the blue will just tear it down, and vice versa. It doesn't matter who's in power, it's all the same, politicians are corrupt.

I don't give a crap about the hikes.
The issue is that we're even singled out in the first instance in a no fault compensation scheme. It isn't insurance.
How much for a pair of Ohlins for an XR1200.

HAHA I agree - this whole bullshit of
"Your vote counts" and "If you dont vote you cant complain" - people seem to think logic goes out the window with voting.
"Your vote counts"
- Ok, lets put this in comparison, your vote - 1 out of 4 million.......yes its special.
"If you dont vote, you cant complain"
- Imagine a restaurant, everyone you see go into that restaurant gets sick, some die. Are you telling me you can't complain because you have not tried the food?
Using the same moto we should not give a shit about family violence, I mean you can't complain about family violence on others until you go out there and get yourself some.
Fact of the matter is you have to pick, and elect as a whole, a leader who is the better of 2 evils, if ya dont like it - don't vote.

Can I have this one?
ACC IS making a profit.
They have earned their salaries.
ACC is the only Government cost centre making money. No one has said that ACC is making a loss. What they've said is that ACC has to be "fully-funded" whihc means it needs to carry the capital to cover its future liability. Which is bollocks because it is a compensation scheme, not an Insurance company.

Why should ACC have to make a profit? It is an Accident Compensation scheme that is there for all NZ citizens/residents. We pay taxes and part of them are used to repay the ACC claims. Then someone realised that it's costing shitloads and money that was to be used for education, hospitals, whatever, was sucked up by ACC. So there is now a part of registration to induce some money earmarked for ACC. Brilliant! Now ACC has an income of it's own!
OK, so heaps of ACC claims are not traffic related, but they are tricky to get payment for. I mean, a kid on a skateboard who breaks an ankle, or a fisherman who gets the fishinghook in his eye is not gonna pay anything towards ACC. But motorists will have to. They have no choice. So when more money is "needed' let's increase the motorists ACC fees as it is the simple option. Trying to get $$'s out of sport or recreation is not gonna happen.
Then the other ones who can be charged are employers! Brilliant scheme! First let's tax everyone to keep the government running, then lets tax them some more and make it a specific one. They won't know! Let's add GST, road tax, petrol tax, ACC tax... Hey what about a Tax-tax? We could justify that by saying that as we now have to tax you all so much we need additional income to pay for it all...
It's all gone stupid! Set a flat tax rate for all. No other taxes! (Gets rid of the overheads!) Then live to the means. If the government can take in $xx billlion in a year, that is all that they can spend! That's how I run a business.
But I am most probably just a simple guy who has no idea.
James Deuce
25th October 2009, 16:51
But I am most probably just a simple guy who has no idea.
ACC IS making money. End of story. It needs no levy increases to "cross-subsidise" motorcyclists. Who, by the way, are the only group that can be cross subsidised because they are the only group of NZers singled out for special treatment by ACC.
