heya

done a search and found a topic about lucid dreams but with no mention of the technique I'v found to DEFINATLEY induce a very lucid dream (usually a nightmare) :-).. the cool ones
Basically I have been smoking for many years but have recently given up (yay) anyway I rang 0800 quitline and they sent me a card that lets me cheaply buy nicotine patches from a pharmacy ,as you may know...

Nicotine increases your heart rate, and your supposed to remove the patch before sleep, and re-apply in the morning when you wake.
I have heard before about lucid dreams but never got the chance to practice, because vivid dreams were to far apart for me to even try.

To sum it up, last three nights I have experienced the most Intense vivid, realistic dreams ever. !!

I done some research and it is very known that the nicotine patch is the really only proven method for inducing vivd dreams.
So if your a smoker... get some patches and enjoy the funride!!! and apparently taking things like "centrum" a to z supplements , boost it even further making for the ultimate in Nighttime entertainment.

** a a cigarette may help also, but a consistant release of nicotine will have a Huge effect... you really have to experience it!

You will sweat like crap tho... enjoy :headbang: :headbang:

Don't do it too often dude, the best type of sleep is deep sleep, and if you don't get enough you will start to see the negative effects on your health.

From what I've heard, eating cheese before you go to bed is apparently supposed to make you more likely to have lucid dreams - why? I don't know.

The real screwed up thing about lucid dreams is that sometimes when I do have very real dreams, I think I've done stuff (daily tasks etc) when I actually haven't - how's that for stress playing on your mind!

Had a few naughty dreams these past two nights. Traced the cause back to toasted cheese sizzler sarnies with HP sauce washed down with a glass of cider.

Both morning's after I fell out of bed and cracked my pyjamas, had to change the sheets with a club hammer this morning.

I think in one of them I was being attended to by The enite Silver Ferns team, with Ruth 'Filthy Bitch' Aitken in a rubber basque slapping my arse cheeks with a wet copy of Kiwirider. Cant remember too much else, only Irene Van Dyk telling me to 'Shoot mun, shoot'. I dont think she is a dyk though cos there was none of that rug munching happening in the background.

The other stickey fest dream was far more simple...my birthday and Sharon Stone jumping naked out of a mince and cheese pie...what a fucking custard fest and no mistake....!!! I think Carver was in there somewhere polishing his helmet but I cant be sure.....

Right, I'm off for a shandy...

yeah thats a classic but, this is lucid on a whole new level.
even if you take it off you still get a very lucid dream
but leave it on for a journey to hell and back if its a nightmare!

lucid dreams are not unhealthy.. only unhealthy ways to achieve them.. Of course for a nonsmoker its silly.. but this is a side effect of the patch, they warned me when i rang... god bless

Its always because i left the electric blanket on:baby:

Mine was more like doing assignments, paying bills etc. I'd get to about 3pm in the afternoon (when awake), check my bank account and wonder why the money hadn't left my account - because I hadn't paid it :(

There's a big difference between vivid dreams and lucid dreams.

Lucid dreaming you are aware that it's all a dream, and you can (often) control what happens.

It usually goes grand until a goat pops into the lucid induced threesome.

I can vouch for this effect.

When I used patches to stop smoking I had about 3 weeks of totally awesome, lucid dreams.

It's almost worth taking up smoking just to quit again... Nah.

However, as someone else said; It's really tiring having an uneventful, boring dream where you're paying bills, cleaning stuff up, and doing other menial chores.

hahaha, i do think i did get vivid and lucid mixed up, as i cannot simply switch to kite surfing over mexico etc, it was just very very real.
although i did make decisions, but didnt get a chance to stop and realise what was going on.. im sure il learn it at this rate.

if you wanted to know what happened... last night i attended a friends 30th bday party, in the dream, all the people from the party were at my house for my party, but some homie's turned up and raided the house, started messing with my bike in the garage, going through my parents stuff, i tried to get them to leave but they wouldnt. so i got my air rifle and threatened them. it wouldnt shoot! it was very fustrating, later there was a gas canister outside which caught alight from someone trying to light a cigarette and ended up exploding and killing my friends dog (who was at the party) but he wasnt actualy dead but he was?. i felt really bad and somehow it was my fault. i could go on about the high rise steam-train rail way on the neigbors property made from untreated timber and about to fall apart but this is enough :D

scary shit and seemed to go on for hours...

woah last night i bought a harley davidson, and soon after heavily wished i didnt as it was slow as shit,, next thing i knew i was runing around pack 'n save naked trying to get after market parts for it. before i knew it, it had morphed , and i was at some kind of jurasic park where an elephant had escaped and a keeper was trying to take it back by hooking up a chain to its tail but the tail would just stretch, then.. it turned into a nightmare and the elephant killed the keeper and came towards me.. luckily i had a waterblaster in my pocket to fend off the elephant, thats about half of it. im going to get a diary and log this stuff down..

I woke up feeling refreshed,!

I concur, I've given up smoking now  but whilst on those patches I often forgot to remove them and boy did I have some crazy realistic dreams.

My memory is pretty poked but the one that stands out is circumnavigating NZ on a quad bike, four of us on one bike, two of whom are actually dead but hey they were enjoying the trip

I distinctly remember getting stuck in a ravine in Otago and having several bikini clad lovelies push the Quad out the muddy mess, apparently they lived in the bush because lots of Quads had got stuck in the ravine so were they were there to help out, and the bikinis? what better to wear if you're in and out of a muddy hole all day long!

Anyway, silly dream for sure but the point is, I was totally convinced it had transpired and I shot out of bed in the morning to wash the mud off!

Good luck with the quitting.

As long as its not a shandy of the hand variety!!!:eek5: I find a red wine and some marinated fetta before bed used to give me the mother of all naughty dreams. My favourite being Lara Bingle, a secluded beach and a bottle of chocolate sauce.

Good luck with the quitting. Smoking hasn't given up on me yet, I'll let ya know when it has.

There's some sort of amino acid action in cheese that makes dreams vivid.

I prefer cottage cheese although it tastes like lumpy wet smegma.

I like the ones where you're running away from Satan, but it's ok because you know it's a dream
