Have been looking around for a bigger bike when I am going for my full next
month.
Went to Haldanes the other day and saw their Monsters and straight away fell in love with them. The beast is just so sexy, and the price around 8-11k ish is also very attractive (For a Duc ). Sat on it as well and it fits me like a condom.
Have done a bit of search but want to know some owner's opinion on these:
(1) Are the smaller capacity Monster worth it look? How is their acceleration? cuz on paper a 400 monster produces ~42 HP at high rev (10500), which is not to say a lot more than my 250 hornet (40HP). and they seem to have bad resale value.
(2) Are there any specific models to avoid?
(3) Build quality- compared to jappas - do they tend to rust easily and require a lot of care on the parts...etc. This is important since I am planning to commute on it.
(4) Servicing: Will I be looking for a bomb? I can do simple things like oil change / brake fluid
(5) Fuel consumption- probably not as important but on average how much km do you get per litre, and on what model??
Cheers
