Okay, so I have just bought a 1990 GSXR250R. First bike so give me a break, I actually really like it too.

Found that the rotor that normally has magnets attached to it is completely bare of said magnets.

Wellington City motorcycles say the part isn't available anymore. Dam.

Rung around wreckers up and down the country. Nothing. dam.

My questions are: Any other model bikes that use the same alternator setup/engine?

Any after market options that will work for my model?

Thanks in advance
Craig

Im getting desperate to ride the dam thing

1) take of the stator and rake it around to a few wreckers they may be able to size something up it will be common across a range of models
2) try an electric motor rebuilder
3) getting desparate glue some magnets on yourself
4) really desparate put a WTB on the online trading pages

Good Luck cheers

thanks, yea I might try the electric motor specialists. see if they want a bar of it. Be nice if I could just find the right part somewhere.

p.s. I cant reply to any PM's because of my 'new-ness'

anyone know if the GSXR250RR shares the same engine with the GSXR250? or any other suzuki model for that matter?

Thanks in advance for even the slightest bit of help
