Well MD commented on lack of bikes in the USA and I posted a few "lack of bikes" pics on his thread, plus of course I had lunch at Hooters in San Francisco. Check that out on his thread here http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=110385
Now this I have posted in Rant and Rave as its not much to do with bikes. To make up for the lack of bikes I did stumble across the US Open Beach Volleyball champs at Manhattan Beach in LA haha.
There were a few courts marked out eh!
Oh, I hear you guys had shit weather in Wellington while I was away - what a shame!

On the other side of the pier was the usual Baywatch look.

Oh, maybe this thread is about bikes after all.
I did spot some bikes in Zurich out near where my daughter lives, but those riders look rather surprised an old fellah would be photographing them.
Then there were these flash retro looking but electric pushbikes, disk brakes and all.

Where my daughter lives there was this shop in the town with bike stuff in the window. Looks like I just missed a classic race meet.
Shame I was there in the weekend and the shop was closed when I walked by. The Swiss still do the shops closed on Sunday thing.

Its a prick of a job Jim but someone's got to take the photos for you guys eh! We don't seem to be doing KB rides like we used to so I've got to photograph something.

Never tried them before so we thought we'd give it a go and did a Segway tour at Leeds Castle in kent. The boys got the models with off-road wheels while the girls made do with road oriented tyres.
An interesting experience and the machines go good, but after 45mins Mrs merv was saying they should have a seat to sit on, and there is no suspension so they are a bit rough and bouncy off-road. Not much like a trail bike but certainly nice and maneouvrable and they can stand still and reverse at will.
Yeah, it was a nice castle.
Saw this CBF600 in Canterbury too.

Checked out that classic race meet site here http://www.bergrennen-seebodenalp.ch/
You fellahs can read German eh?
The entry list was here http://www.bergrennen-seebodenalp.ch/pdf/startliste.pdf looks like everything was pre 1968. Suit you eh Motu?
The photos are cool, Indian racing team and all, but then I see there are some modern KTMs amongst the shots - that doesn't match that start list.
Is that Idolllllll doing stoppies or something?
That's a cool race track, love the scenery.
Yeah, shame I missed this, happened just before I got over there.

Yeah mate they felt reasonably grunty - tour guide wasn't up for us passing him so I rode along beside him chatting to him most of the time. What surprised me is we went up and down grass hills and the like and were with him about 1 hour riding and 30 mins talking shit and he said he can get about 7 tours off a battery charge. So they last all day really.
You can do dumb stuff on them and they are totally forgiving as in the machine is smart and keeps you upright, but he said if you try to do it going backwards you will end up landing on your head as they aren't designed for that.
