Please post here if you have a spare bike or pillion space for riders and supporters who would like to join but either don't have a bike or have a bike incapable of making the long trip.
Please also post here if you are said rider or supporter who needs a hand.
I will edit this post with a bikers with spare pillion, supporters in need of spare pillion, bikers with spare bike and bikers in need of spare bike sections.
I think it goes without saying but i will say it anyway, if you are riding pillion or using someone ride you must have the appropriate safety gear.

A good point made by Nasty:
If you are not used to having a pillion this is not a chance to step up and try. Being a large ride there are a huge number of risks involved in the group riding. This is a not a practice ground.

Excellent plan :2thumbsup
At this stage I might be in two categories - it looks like I will be flying from Auckland to Wellington around that date, so
a) My Volty will be available for someone who's really keen to ride a 250cc single to Wellington  and
b) I will be in Wellington without a bike. :weep:
I will confirm my plans closer to the time, but great idea with this thread!

I have a moped that could be added to that trailer if space allows.. its moped rego so someone without a class 6 licence could use it if they wished to add support. Have helmet & jacket for 'em too and maybe a pair of pants if the arse is the right size.

As long as you dont mind it coming down on the 11th and getting it back on the 25th all the bikes will be stored at strait shipping/bluebridge terminal and will have to be picked up from there
Oh just a thought Any one got a side car I can sit in:shifty:be much better than a cage:laugh:

I'm without a bike but am more than happy to jump on one (preferably riding as being pillion freaks me out!) to show support. Despite my lack of motivation to get any further than my learners in the licensing system I'm happy to and have experience riding up to medium sized (750 odd cc) bikes and legal trail bikes also. Can meet anywhere in Wellington region.

Will love to see you there giving your support, unfortunately I cant condone anything illegal and even tho I don't speak for the organisers and am not one myself im sure they don't either.
I will be happy to set you up with a 250 if we can, sounds like you are a competent rider so im sure we won't have any trouble :-)

The Pillion will be on the DR 650, I may have a Honda XL 500 S but it needs re-VIN and WOF & REG, so at the moment only the Pillion on The DR 650. I will advise on the second bike if it is available, though would require a Full licence and Exsperience with large Trail / Adventure Bikes.

Thought I wan't going to be able to make it due to commitments on other days - but I've just booked flights to arrive @ WGTN airport @ 10:30 (got to be back there for a 4:30 back to AKL)
Just wondering if there's still anyone with bike/pillion space and where I'd have to get to. (I'm a full license holder obviously & I could taxi to a location)
If not where's the best place to join the protest on foot?

Hey DogsnBikes - sorry to hear 'bout the medical stand down
That could be a goer as long as timing allows - about 30 mins or so to the city from the airport by cab - whats the arrangement getting access etc? Do you know how long to get to one of the two meeting points? Should be doable I think by 11:30?
Would really appreciate the opportunity to ride in if I can fit it all in - would be an honour to take one of your machines out there (750 preference - but I'm not too choosy). The terminal is pretty close to the beehive as I remember which should mean it's pretty straightforward getting it back there - as long as there is somewhere to leave it etc. I expect to be leaving the city centre not too much later than 2:30-3:00ish to make sure I make the plane home.
(I'm assuming they'll let me take my lid as carry on... never tried to fit one in a luggage locker :) )

Look like we're on then :) Not sure how I'll ever be able to repay the favour - but I'll ride safe and look after your bike and ride it valiantly towards the Beehive!
I am printing transfer labels for hi-vis vests (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?p=1129489649#post1129489649)at the minute for the cause - would you like a hi-vis vest with the "Easy Target" graphics (or anything you want really?)
My plan is to bring my gear (I'll ride to the airport) - but I'll just do a double check I can take my lid on board - no chance in hell would I leave it with a baggage mishandler.
Thanks again, I'll PM all my details to you in case you want to get in touch (although PMs from here go to my blackberry anyway :) )

I have a spare CB500S (see profile pic) which can take rider and pillion. Legal riders only and taking pillion only if experienced in same (rider not pillion).
Prefer to have an out of towner who wants to come but cant get a bike to Wellington. May even have a bed available for the Mon night if they want to fly in the night before. (Bed to be confirmed).
Edit - Bed confirmed (possibly 2) and I also have a couch and floor space.
Anyone picking up a bike on the Tues morn but arriving Monday?
Possibility of doing the pickups Monday night to save time on the Tuesday morning and bring the bike to my place. (owner agreement obviously).
I live in the suburbs 15mins from Welly. Quiet street and have off road parking and space for one more bike in the garage.
Maybe worth seeing if we can organise group airport pickups as pillions by the Wellington crowd. I'm quite happy to meet someone off the plane and pillion them to wherever. Only problem is I'm acting as one of the marshals so late Tues morn pickup is no good for me.

Unfortunately yes (unless your talking PM Monday). I will already be at Parliment by 10:30am Tues. The police are expecting the Marshals to be ready by about 9:30 to help with the in flux of riders that will come in ahead of the main pack. Some folks aren't comfortable riding with 4-5000 others. nudedaytona (Within Wellington only)
A good point made by Nasty:
If you are not used to having a pillion this is not a chance to step up and try. Being a large ride there are a huge number of risks involved in the group riding. This is a not a practice ground.
Will have to withdraw the CB250 went into shed this morning and he had pissed all his petrol over the floor:angry: and there is no way I'm going to be able to sort/find the problem before I head away tomorrow

Slight modification of the plan - I've decided my time is too narrow to ride... do Dog's CBX750 is now up for grabs again. I will however undertake if I can to get it out of storage and into the protest somehow - every bike counts right! (and it'd be a crying shame for a boke 5 mins walk from parliament to miss out ! )
I'm gonna help out the guys marshalling the event - I think my time will be better spent there...

I have a spare seat on my GSX 1200 tourer, leaving Palmy North (the square) in the morning.
