According to this
http://www.acc.co.nz/about-acc/statistics/acc-injury-statistics-2008/20-sport-claims/IS0800369

the Top 5 sports new and active claims total $130-140 million for 2007-2008.

Motorcyclists total $62 million (so they tell us). By my reckoning ACC are looking to recoup about 2/3 of the total, i.e. an average of approx $400 per bike x approx 100,000 bikes = $40 million.:buggerd:

By the same token then should the sporting bodies of NZ, e.g. NZRFU, NZRL, Soccer NZ et al, be paying $90 million in ACC levies between them to cover this?:dodge:

the 62 million could be the on going previous claims as well, not just this years claims... no one is sure and ACC aren't telling or can't tell

add in the mopeds which under the proposale pamore the current fleet of bikes 130,213

The sports figures quoted are both new and active claims as well.
