watching a program on Prime right now called " CAN FAT TEENS HUNT"

now the funny part is the premise .. send 15 morbidly obese British teens into Borneo to live with a tribe of 'FORMER' CANNIBALS.. ok ... im interested ..


first scene in the house is the ritual killing of a wild pig and the camera zooms on a dark skinned young man named (wait for it ..) MOHAMED

"Mohamed's Muslim faith prevents him from eating pork" (uh-oh)

at this point im on the floor with tears in my eyes ...i may have to get this on DVD for parties ..

Two thoughts. One funny, one not so funny:

1) I'm sure the "former" cannibals loved the idea 30 for the price of 15.

2) It's a bit disappointing that the reality TV show is exploiting his faith like that. I'm not Muslim so it doesn't seem a big deal to be - but to him it is probably the foundation of his life. The producers would have known there was going to be a pig and that it would be an issue I'm sure...

If they are hungry enough he will eat it. I was on a long safari in africa and after a while you will eat anything. We had an american jew on board and was a delight to see him tearing into spit roasted pork with the other 3 vegetarians on board!

Many years ago I flatted with 3 vegetarians in Ponsonby.
They smoke dope I drink JD.
They make plates with rabbit food I make stew that I store in the fridge.

I come home on Sunday mornings and look forward to my stew. But it's all gone. Munchies...

I had one of those once...she introduced me to Linda McCartney sausages...I re-introduced her to bacon sarnies. I might not be in NZ if her ma wasn't such a biatch.

I'm pretty much a vegetarian...at least most of the animals I eat are vegetarian.....
