That's what Bit-Torrent is for. We're up to Episode 4. Not too shabby either (particularly if you're a Billie Piper fan). Damn scary in parts though, so not for the young 'uns, but the series never was anyway. I used to have nightmares of Cybermen and Daleks.

Tell me more about Bit Torrent. I use Jetstream on one of the faster plans, but havent tried the full episode websites.

I stopped using torrent because it was wasting data cap. Was chewing up 300mb trying to get a 100mb file.

Bit-torrent is a file sharing application (see http://www.bittorrent.com/introduction.html fordetailed information). Two-seven is right in that it can cost a bit in bandwidth due to the fact that as soon as you download part of a file (say a 100mb file will be broken into 10mb chunks), then the server will register your computer as having that 10mb chunk. So if someone else wants the file, and you are the closest in ping time to that person, your 10mb chunk will be uploaded from your computer to his/hers. This means that you share files as well as receive them, so if you're a low ping ba***rd (LPB), you'll share more as well as download. Best to do what I do and get some other sucker to download it for you :D However, if you want to get the latest and greatest and have bandwidth to burn, go for it. Just remember to shut down the client once you have your file.

I downloaded 12 episodes on BitTorrent only to find they're showing it soon on Prime. Oh well, I can watch it all again. Episode 5 is excellent, and the farting aliens were amusing as well.

Try 7:30, Prime, this Thursday - apparently that's when its supposed to be starting here in NZ

Personally I think she looks like an overweight chipmunk. She was married to Chris Evans - talk about damaged goods.
Hey, maybe she should be an entry on the Ugliest Rocker thread?

I used to watch it from behind the couch - apparently a common occurence all over the world.
BBC said they were going for scary - back to the roots of Doctor Who - they said they were thinking along the lines of a "Sapphire and Steel" level of thriller.

Sapphire and Steel scared the crap out of me when I was a kid!
I've seen the four episodes of the new series - and they were 4kin awesome (two were filmed in Wales). In fact the second (maybe the third?) one has gas powered zombie type geeks - and it raised one hell of a stink in the British press as it was alledged to be too scary. But I'm a tough macho bikertype, so I never get scared. Well - only when Ms Biff's credit card statement turns up.
Besides - it has Billy Piper as Dr Who's sidekick - mmmmmmmmmmm.

Bloody was in my street when I was a kid mate...
Those Daleks were nasty....

I wasn't a kid and it was scarey enough. When I read the BBC's statement I thought "Great!" I feel that Doctor Who had gotten off base - they had Douglas Adams writing scripts and Alexei Sayle acting in it - "Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" meets the fucking "Young Ones" - about the only thing likely to cause me to hide behind the couch is Sayle's appalling "acting".
Good to hear they're going back to the horror/thriller aspect of it, Doctor Who should be scarey - he's fighting freakin' monsters, FFS.
I remember having nightmares about the Drashigs - huge sea-serpents - and the Daleks and Cybermen were just plain terrifying. The Cybermen were so popular the "Star Bleck" mob stole the idea (if they could've gotten away with stealing Daleks they would've but they knew Terry Nation's estate would cripple them if they tried.)

And fucking popular.
The Daleks turned up, the Doctor wiped every one of them out. All over the place kids were running around with cardboard boxes over them chanting "Exterminate! Exterminate!" They were terrified by them but loved them. I've got to admit they're my favourite "monster"/villain of all time. They scared the shit out of me, but the Dalek stories are my favourite ones. The BBC had to work out a way of bringing the Daleks back - damn good thing the show's central character was a time traveller, eh.
I was rapt when I heard that the Terry Nation Estate had sorted things out with BBC - "Woohooo! We're gonna have Daleks!"
